I thought drive-in diners were fun.

you couldn't have posted that in the drive in thread.

I will ask a friend to take a pic of the 50's era stuff here and post his pics.

If you drop in early in the morning at this West Hartford diner, you can still share breakfast with the Hartford area French speaking drywall installers.

that has a colonial style design. rather odd for a diner.

I don't think it's changed a bit since 1931, certainly not in the 30 years I've lived here. They restored it in 1987, but I think it's still the same basic diner.

My mom used to get these when her and my dad went grocery shopping. She would let me put them in her green stamp book and sometimes she would let me pick out something at the redemption store.

my wifes, when it was open as the patio, favorite place for brunch. its not cheap but it was worth it until the final years of when they had to close. the pic pales in comparison to the real odd eccentricity waldo sexton had. but that alone would another thread about odd homes and architects.

oh I love it love the 50s! There are a few old diners here closer to downtown but seeing this Ill have to make my way there soon!I remember going to a sockhop in the 3rd grade was my favorite dance i ever went to!I think thats when I first feel in love with long skirts because of that poodle skirt.

that wasn't around in the 50's but it does have a lot of the relics from that time and the door handles are gas pump handles. it also has two working rotary pay phones

Jason,

Here's one in Newington CT that WAS around in the 50s. It's where all the gearheads gathered on Saturday nights, and would race own the Berlin Turnpike.
