When I got off the train, I noticed to was cooling off quickly, so I decised to walk home, instead of spending the $7.00 for a cab. About 1/3 of the way, it started to get dark and cloudy and the first thing that came to mind was, "here I go again, walking straight into a storm". Story of my life. lol
First I started to hurry, then that little voice came over me saying "you will make it". At the same time, the lightning started. But I felt this overwhelming peace come over me and I returned to a normal pace.
Not 5 minutes after I got home, the skies opened up, the lightning got heavier and the thunder started big time. Man, God is good. Gave new meaning to the lyrics "I will praise you in the storm".
Now for the rest of the story...
About 3/4 of the way home, I was bombarded by a loose dog! At first I thought it was going to attack me, so I stood still and watched it's movements. I realized it was just a friendly dog running wild and jumping on me for attentiom. I stopped at the closest house, rang the doorbell and asked it this was their dog... it was.
With the dog back in the house, I started walking again. A nice man in a pickup stopped and said he turned around to see if I needed help. He thought the dog was attacking me. He was going to offer me a baseball bat! I don't think that was God's intentions, but the man's intentions were at least admirable. Not too many people stop to help another these days, so I praise God for that too.
GOD IS GOOD! Praise God.
