A married couple, friends of mine adopted a baby last year. They couldn't have children of their own so turned to adoption and were so blessed with a beautiful baby boy. The birth mom was expecting again and wanted them to adopt the new baby when she was born. So my friends raised money, adoption isn't cheap, so they could go through with the adoption. They went to birth mom's state when she was having the baby, met the precious baby girl, held her, fell in love... that night the birth mom decided she wanted to try to parent the baby for a couple days and then decided she wanted to keep her.

My friends are heart broken and had to go home without the baby they have hoped for and planned to take home. The are very strong Christians and rely on the Lord to get through this, but its still very hard. It's been over a week since they left the hospital. They have a strong support system but still could use some extra prayers.

Please pray for them. And also for the baby and her mother. I know it's all in God's hands.

we'll pray for them :thumbsup

Definitely, my prayers are with that family, lmw!

I also know a young couple who, after their first child, learned they couldn't have any more. A couple of years later, they were able to adopt a child. Another year and a half, the birth mother found she was expecting again, and wanted the couple to adopt this next baby.

Same situation as your friends happened... the couple held the baby, fell in love....and the mother decided that she was going to keep the baby. Then, when she saw how much the hospital bill was, she contacted the couple again, and for a full month, played on the couple's desire for another child. But when it came to signing the paperwork, the mother wouldn't unless she was paid $20,000, above and beyond medical expenses; the couple couldn't do that.

It's a very sad situation, no doubt, for your friends and mine. I firmly believe prayers will soften the blow...our Lord is amazing in His answers!

Blessings!
