[__ Prayer __] Prayer for position change

I just got a phone call about 15 minutes ago that made my jaw drop and I literally couldn't find my words. So I was told to think about it over my lunch break. There really wasn't any thinking, I just couldn't talk.

Some background: I work in the postal service, since 2008. transferred from the office 2 miles from my house to one 20 miles from my house for $1.38/hr increase, some benefits, sick leave. I don't really like the new office, been there since December. The transfer was painful, didn't get paid properly for a month, etc... my new boss and I clash, I soooo miss my old boss, but the smaller office just could not pay me enough, I could not climb the ladder if I stayed there because of the size, no possibility for advancement.

Postal changes happened... they are cutting the hours at the small office from 8 business hours down to 4. Postmaster left in July, she still runs it but is never there during normal hours, me and another girl have been filling in. Because of the lack of coverage, the district was forced to pay me at the higher rate (haha!) I was just asked if I would be interested in being the OIC- Officer in Charge... I'd "act" as the postmaster. I'd have set hours and set pay, benefits, etc... basically it would mean I'd get more hours and get paid more than I am making now.

Some weeks now sure I get 40+ hours because I fill in at 2 different offices, sometimes 3, but the jumping around is wearing on me, a lot. Being called on a moments notice, trying to juggle personal plans, daycare, etc... wearing me down. I don't need anything more than around 20 hours a week and that's way more than what I usually average... last week I topped out at 11 hours for the week!! One week I only worked 3 hours! I can't make ends meet when it varies so much week to week. I'm part time, but best described as on call.

So please pray that it wasn't just an offer that well, I may not get, I would like to accept it, and actually get it :) and once I transfer back, pray that goes smoothly, because I know my new boss won't be happy at all, and the last time I transferred, it was a huge mess!!

Sometimes it's a case of wait and see.

Sometimes it's case of: Jump now! or for ever hold your peace...

Keep praying....

Will remember you in my prayers.

Still waiting and praying. I will be the last to know if my position is going to change. Being that the school year is fast approaching, this is stressing me because as far as finding daycare, I don't know my work schedule yet and all I can do is wait. It will be a mad dash to find a daycare once I find out how much I will be working, but the Lord's got this.

Thanks for your prayers!

You're so right, lmw .... our Lord does have all the details worked out. Just continue to trust Him & to pray to Him ... you know we'll be praying for you & your situation as well :yes

Hi dear Sister Imw. I worked for the Postal Service in many different positions starting off as a Sub where I would have to go to work and sit in the break room until needed. God has been so faithful through my life, and though I had unsure hours, different reporting times daily, and days off if any, He always provided all I needed.

You were blessed in acting as an OIC so early in your career, and as far as to returning to the boss you have trouble with, God is on your side. I will just suggest the following scripture. Colossians 3:23 "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men." If you have a wicked boss, work for him as doing it unto the Lord.

Dear Father, please continue directing the path You will have Imw take, and give her the strength to follow Your will for her. Thank You Father, and I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
