Hopefully I can put across what I'm trying to say.

How do you approach prayer. By this I mean praying for others. Do make a list or ask God to lay whoever on your heart.

I must admit I'm not a list person, I find it a little stifling. The only time I make a note in my diary to pray is if prayers are requested for some point in the future then it pops up.

I know what I'm like, I am forgetful. At times I promise to pray because I genuinely want to but do forget at times.

There are times when suddenly God asks me to pray for someone, I could be in the local supermarket or walking down the street, sat watching tele. Sometimes it's when I forgot and know what to prayer and other times I have no idea what to pray so I just lift them up.

One thing I never do when I want someone to pray for me or my family is say "Can you please pray" I say "If you remember can you please pray"

Your thoughts

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalm 100:4

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

Prayer brings Angels - Praise brings God

Most of the time I pray immediately when I say I will for someone. Usually they are exactly what was requested. I don't do big fancy prayers. I know God hears and goes right to work for us. However, my most special prayer times are at night before I go to sleep. I lay in bed and pray. I'll remember people and things from the day and pray more strongly for them. Sometimes I ask God for things, sometimes I just thank Him. That's how I go about it.

Sounds like my memory is as bad as yours! That's why I HAVE to make a list or else I'll forget! And yes that list is long, and it seems like it takes forever to get thru them all, but I feel that the people in my life (whether I like them or not) should be important enough to me to mention their name before my King when I ask Him for their healing and blessing. I know I would want people to mention my name before Him! Although spontaneous prayer (praying when I hear of a special need) is good, continuous prayer (on a daily basis) is always better.

Usually I don't need a list, I pray as soon as I hear of it..before I forget, lol..
I think we should speak to our Father all day long...continual prayer..
For example, see someone have a accident or whatever, I would say, Father, please let them be alright, then most of the time they are, then I would say, thank you Father...
When I do something wrong and my conscience convicts me, I will say forgive me Father, help me Lord, not to do that again...
