Christ is shown to be standing with one foot on the sea and the other foot on the earth, at which point He cries out, like thunder, seven voices or seven statements. He tells John not to write them but to seal them. This may seem contradictory since a seal is usually applied to a written document, as was the case with the scroll sealed with seven seals. However, the Greek word used for seal, i.e. sfragison, can also mean to designate, attest, or authenticate. This would mean that Christ is telling John to “attest ” the 7 subjects, descriptions, words that He spoke. This makes sense when we look at the instruction that comes afterwards to eat the little book, containing the identities of the elect, which will taste sweet in the mouth but grievous in the stomach. In other words, they are those that stand for Christ but will also suffer persecution and death for His Name. This is followed by the instruction to measure the temple of God, where John is directed to measure the altar, the true worshippers, and to leave out the courtyard of the temple (the Christians that speak His name but do not have Him in their hearts).

It is clear that the seven voices of thunder relate to the elect written in the small book, who are those that worship at the altar in the temple of God. The instruction to seal what he heard is directly related to the sealing of the 144,000 elect. Therefore, the seven thunders are seven identifications of the elect.

In Revelation 14, Christ, as the Lamb, is once again shown to be standing on the earth, but this time on Mount Zion and with Him the 144,000 elect. Christ proceeds to describe and identify the 7 qualities of the elect. These qualities are:

1. They have the seal of Our Father on their heads.

2. They have not been defiled with other women....did not embrace another belief.

3. They are virgins. They are true to Christ and awaiting His return as King of kings.

4. They follow the Lamb wherever He may go. They follow His Way and Only His Way.

5. They were purchased from among men as first fruits to God and to the Lamb.

6. There was no guile found in their mouth. They did not speak any deceit.

7. They are blameless before the throne of God. They overcame the way of sin - self will.

These are the seven voices of thunder proclaiming those that have been faithful and true to Christ and the Way of Our Father.

things which shall be hereafter...

We can see that these 144,000 are 'Israelites' from each of the twelve tribes.. in contrast to a multitude which could not be numbered..
