1 Peter 2:24-25
24 He personally bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed. 25 For you were going astray like sheep, but now you have come back to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.
What a wonderful declaration of Christ sacrifice for us!
I have been a Christian for a long time, and sometimes the joy of my salvation can fade. This passage reminds me that my salvation is totally beyond words and totally beyond my comprehension.
In verse 24, it says that Christ personally bore our sins in His body. The sacrifice of Jesus, was personal. It was horrific. The pain was unimaginable. Every wrong thought, every wrong action, every wrong motive, was laid on Him…the spotless and faultless Lamb of God.
。
To me this is the greatest antidote to a Christian sinning. Looking at the cross, how can we can continue to sin? It is also the greatest motive for living full out for God Amen. Seeing what Jesus has done for us, How can we not live totally sold out for Him? Through the sacrifice of Jesus, we have been brought back to God. Jesus has won our salvation. We are restored to God, because of Jesus and His sacrifice at Calvary.
The Cross of Calvary puts all our service for God into perspective. The cross humbles us. It grips us. It sets us free to serve the living God. I love what the Amplified says in its margin, because of Calvary, we have ceased to exist. We are no longer our own. We are under new ownership, the ownership of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
I hope this blesses you
Keith
UNENDING PRAISE
"It is a good and delightful thing to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises [with musical accompaniment] to Your name, O Most High, To show forth Your loving-kindness in the morning and Your faithfulness by night... Psalm 92:1-2."
What a wonderful start to this psalm... amen. It is truly a delight to praise God and to do it with music...whether it be guitar, organ or saxophone! But it is verse 2 that I wish to concentrate on... because we can praise God in the morning and in the evening... amen. For his loving-kindness... for Him keeping watch over us while we are sleeping; to his faithfulness and care throughout the day... amen. So may I suggest, and I must do this... to praise God first thing in the morning and last thing at night... oh and yes to praise Him every moment in between... amen.
When I don't wake up with an attitude of praise and go to bed with an attitude of praise… it leads to a bad day and a restless night... Amen. After all, you can't praise Him enough and you never run out of things to praise Him for... amen. God bless you all,
Keith
