Hi, long time roamer, first time poster,

I get so sick of a lot of contemporary christian music. A lot of it seems to be quite feminine. It also seems to copy off the pop charts but it's always a decade too late. Where is the originality? I thought that with God, being the creator of music, christians would be leading the way with regards to originality.

There's only a small handful of artists I enjoy - Gritts, Sound of Amsa and a few others. This is a real shame.. Can anybody suggest me some original christian music?

What bands have you heard from so far? What kind of genres do you like?
It is pretty odd that a lot of Christian music today seems to be following the trends of secular music, as according to what I've read, in the past Christians used to be leading music in new directions. I don't know much about it, though, haven't really studied it specifically.

Perhaps what the Christian radio stations typically play isn't always the best of what's out there.

Moved this over to popular culture, BTW. Welcome to CFnet. :)

Hi Johnny, having listened to a bit of Gritts and Sound of Amsa I'm not sure you'll like any of th following but I do. The words to praise God being utmost in my priorities.

A choir I like was made known to me from our own dear Sister "Abide" on these forums and they are the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir of NY.

Fannie Crosby was blind from the age of six weeks old, and she came to write over 8000 original Christian songs. Below are a sample of songs she wrote we still sing in Church .

Yes, it's an interesting and thoughtful point.

Not sure of what conclusion to make, really.

Blessings.
