1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Revelation 1:1-3.

2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

How about the rest of Revelation, such as Rev 6:12-14? Preterists (of either kind) dismiss this passage as merely allegorical.

As to "shortly come to pass" and the "time is at hand" why does everyone forget that the messages to the seven churches were delivered very shortly after those words were written (thus shortly) and that the first five seals began to be immediately opened, and the prophecies fulfilled (thus the time is at hand)? The 6th and 7th seals are future, but what Christ said was literally happening at that very time in history. So this is merely a Preterist strawman.
