Bible Study Rooted And Built Up In Him

CF Ambassador
Sabbath Overseer
Wednesday 4-22-20, Nisan 28 5780, 4th. day of the weekly cycle, 34th. Spring day

13th. Day of the Omer Count, Yesod of Gevurah: Bonding in Discipline

Colossians Two:7, Psalm One Nineteen:97-104

Colossians Two:7
7Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

MEM
Psalm 119:97-104
97O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. 98Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. 99I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. 100I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts. 101I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.

102I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me. 103How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! 104Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.

For discipline to be effective it must be coupled with commitment and bonding. Both in disciplining yourself and others there has to be a sense that the discipline is important for developing a stronger bond. Not that I discipline you, but that we are doing it together for our mutual benefit.

Exercise for the day: Demonstrate to your child or student how discipline is an expression of intensifying your bond and commitment to each other.

Love always, Walter and Debbie
