A nifty experiment you can do at home, is to grind up a lot of plant material, and extract the chlorophyl. In a darkened room, shine a strong light into a class container filled with the extract, and you should see a definite red fluorescence.

Apparently your link isn't working to the science channel, but I wouldn't put much faith in anything seen on TV without some checking.

Right now, both links are working. "The Science Channel" is a sign of the times, Barb - no wonder we have a nation of sci-illiterates. And I'm not just talking about Christians OR secular people - I'm talking about ALL people.

The first one still says the video is unavailable. But your point is made. It's always irritating to see such things presented as fact.

My wife has, in the last few years, become an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Mavericks fan. So we're going to ditch our old tube tv for a HD flat panel.

The kids always refer to the old one as "the television that would not die." We just didn't use it much.

No, it keeps saying that it's currently unavailable. The link takes me to a video, but then it won't play. I don't doubt anything you say, BTW. I've seen enough examples that I don't need to be convinced.

Its just so amusing.... and offensively deceptive.

Is she partial to Bart, Bret, or Beau Maverick? I don't recall a Barb Maverick.:chin

Wow, that's pretty bad. I guess the science channel is more concerned about money and seeming appealing to viewers than the truth. Sad.

Again, this is why I do not own a TV or spend much time watching popular media:

It's a kook site trying to scare you with the headline "Strange Force Sweeps Over North America" and includes out-of-context interview snippets as well as obviously deceptive material.
But the truth?

Here's the deal: They have a deadline to put on a show. If there isn't anything worth showing, they make something up.
This one has the "feel" of the "looking for Bigfoot" shows.
I know exactly what causes that red plume:
It's cause by bogymen trying to do disco.

It's Dirk Maverick.

When the Mavericks took down the Heat to win the NBA championship, LeBron said that they should have won, but God just didn't want them to have it that time.

Mrs. B's comment was "God doesn't have a faint German accent."
