Question: How does an AI choose solutions?

AI selects solutions based on a combination of algorithms, data analysis, and contextual understanding. Here’s how it typically works:

  1. Pattern Recognition: AI identifies patterns in data using machine learning models trained on vast amounts of information.
  2. Optimization: AI evaluates multiple possible solutions and selects the one that best aligns with predefined goals, like accuracy, efficiency, or user preferences.
  3. Context Awareness: Advanced AI models, like me, consider conversation history, user intent, and relevant external factors (such as location or time) to refine responses.
  4. Ethical Constraints: AI follows safety guidelines and ethical principles, ensuring solutions do not promote harm, misinformation, or bias.
  5. Feedback Integration: AI learns from interactions, adjusting future responses based on user preferences and corrections.
It’s a mix of logic, adaptation, and guiding principles. -Copilot

AI's will never have "free will". Neurosurgeons have "scientifically proved Free Will is not a function of the brain." One surgeon stimulated brains he was operating on (to make sure he didn't cut out important bodily function) over a million times. Not once did "an opinion" result, always it was a bodily function that was activated. You can stimulate the brain to raise an arm or leg, but not give an opinion or choose right or wrong.

That may protect us when building super intelligence, it won't have free will to choose to destroy us.
