Sherlock Holmes and Watson Uncover Jesus' Challenge to "Counterfeit Eternal Security" | Theological Investigation

Step into the world of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson as they embark on a profound theological investigation! 🕵️‍♂️🔥 In this compelling episode, the duo dives deep into Matthew 7:21-23, unraveling its impact on the doctrine of Eternal Security—often referred to as "once saved, always saved."

🕯️ Key Highlights:

  • Scriptural Deep Dive: Holmes and Watson meticulously analyze Jesus' warnings in Matthew 7:21-23. Could this passage challenge the belief that salvation is eternally secure?
  • Challenging Complacency: Discover how this doctrine may lead some to rely on past works rather than ongoing obedience to God.
  • Parallel Verses: Insights from Luke 6:46, Revelation 14:9-12, and Hebrews 6:4-10 emphasize the importance of enduring faith and true transformation.
  • Unmasking Lawlessness: Explore how a false sense of security may align with the apostasy described in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12.
🔎 Holmes’ Verdict: True salvation isn’t about past professions or works; it’s about an ongoing relationship with Christ, radiating obedience to God’s will. Eternal Security, as taught in Scripture, applies only to genuine faith that bears good fruit.

👣 Reflect and Act: Are you walking in obedience, or relying on past professions? Let this investigation inspire a deeper, enduring faith in Christ.

the doctrine of Eternal Security—often referred to as "once saved, always saved."
Actually its "once born again, always born again."

"Saved" is to ambiguous = means having more than one possible meaning or interpretation, often leading to uncertainty or confusion.

A person can be declared "saved" by the preacher when he baptizes him and he not be born again. Then when the person falls away, the preacher can say "see, once saved always saved is not true."

1 John 3:9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

1 Peter 1:23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,

1 John 5:18 We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.

Jude 1:24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy

I believe in eternal security, for born again believers, not for those who profess to have prophesied, cast out demons, or did wonders in Christ's name, who remain lawless.
