anyone have any advice on how to enjoy waking up on time in the morning? I'm so tired and so late all the time! I go to sleep by 10 or earlier...I'm so tired!

Try spraying a lavender mist on your pillows and blankets before bed time. Bath & Body Works has one by Plants in Harmony that I love to use. It relaxes me and helps me fall asleep faster and I can get a more restful night.

First I take a lavender epsom salts bath to relax....now this is one thing I do and I know it sounds crazy but I like taking a bath in the dark, so then when it's time to get out, I'll lay down in the tub and let the water out. So as the water goes out and I lay there and in my mind I say as the water goes down the drain and I feel it feeling like it's pulling down on me going out, I just say in my mind that it pulling the day off of me and going down the drain. And the troubles go down the drain. LOL Then I have a cup of hot chocolate (sometimes with marshmellows), then I put on my Kitaro music nice and low, and put my ucalyptus sleeping mask on and Wa Hoo I'm ready to sleep. It's like this little ritual I have, but it works and gives me my personal time to relax.

Try it.....you'll like it. My girlfriends just love the water going out of the tub thing! I believe they make lavender sleeping mask too. But they're so soft on your eyes like little pillows of softness and ucalyptus....very soothing.

There could be a medical reason behind it, maybe you're not getting enough iron in your diet?

I've been told that before. It might be. I don't have too much trouble falling asleep (I have a prescription) but I can't stay asleep which I think is what makes me oversleep each morning.

I've actually heard that you have to talk yourself into getting up on time. I've attempted to but then I doze off while I'm talking to myself...

Carol...that sounds amazing!! But every time I have attempted to take a bath at night, I'm interrupted by my daughter. I get probably about 30 mins of personal time at night...sometimes not even that. I have to turn everything off and stop making noise so she'll stop getting up. It drives me bananas!!

All I need is to wake up an hour earlier...that's all and I just can't do it! So frustrating! I need a 10 day nap or something.

I have a seriously hard time getting up in the morning. It's not that I don't hear my alarm, I'm a very light sleeper, but just getting up is so hard to do. It's like no matter what time I go to bed (and I like to get at least 9 hours) I just can't get enough sleep. Getting up early especially is hard, as it makes me feel quite nauseous.

I know! I feel the same way! I can't remember the last time I woke up on time and actually had time to get ready. I'm always rushing out the door with my hair wet and my make up half on. Man!

Raquel, have you tried getting an pre-set automatic coffee pot? Or do you like coffee? Now I know the feeling of not wanting to wake up in the morning.....awful. But I got this french vanilla coffee and I sit my sleve of crackers beside the bed, cause for some reason I wake up sick on my stomach every morning too....that's awful too!! So when my alarm goes off and now I have an automatic alarm in me for some reason......I think it's the coffee smell :morning: but I'll lay there nibble on my cracker, smell the coffee, go pee, and drag myself for that cup or coffee. Sometimes I'll just sit on the side of my bed and smell the coffee, sometimes I don't even drink it, just smell it...LOL. But it seems to help me wake up, hit the shower and go on. You may try setting your alarm 2 hours early just to hit the snooze button for a hour before that hour you have to get up......on my rough days it makes me think I cheating and getting alittle extra sleep and then it gets my thoughts rolling in what I have to do, then I smell the coffee and it helps me. I don't know I do weird things to inspire myself.....I get pretty creative on those desparate mornings.

Yes! Coffee! :-D

All kidding aside and not discounting medical issues, I do this:

When I know I have to be up and on the ball at a certain time, I pray that God will bring upon me a restful sleep and that I wake up refreshed and ready to face the day. I save this prayer for when I kow I may have a tough time the following morning. My nature and tendency is to be a night person and struggle a bit in the mornings.

But... there are those days when I just can't afford the luxury of dragging in the morning, so I pray that prayer the night before.
