I've been holding out to not get a smart phone because that's all I need and do not want to surf the web on a 2X4 screen (or whatever it is). So now they getting rid of the old network and have a new network. SO if I want a phone with them it has to be a smart phone or no phone. Drats! but they threw in 30 dollars supposedly for my old phone to make it not so painful...

So I got the new phone, a ZTE Sonata 2 with Android and 4G. With 5mb of data for 45 bucks a month isn't that bad, it's only 10 bucks more than before. so I'll use it mostly for business, that's where I get some of my work is through the email so that's good. My son's good with computers and phone so he did the import the contacts and set up the email accounts for me.

And then it went downhill...Oh my gosh, all he set up was the business account but somehow it snatched all of my contacts, even from my personal email too. So I got to fix that somehow, set up the private email on the phone. Sounds easy right? :wall

I'm just barely learning how to use the phone, as everything operates differently on the phone vs the desktop. This phone is so smart...I know it's trying to help me, but I'll be trying to set up (email) an App or something and it just takes me somewhere and messes me all up.

Even typing into it and auto correct is different. Joy joy joy joy joy, lol

Was that 5mb per month a typo? I get 500mb free. The free Phone service that comes with it is not that great but usable and I have a tracfone for voice anyway so don't need it.

I don't really use mine anymore, it's just a good back up internet, just in case but when I did, that tiny keyboard was always causing issues like you said or I was hitting the wrong buttons and destroying everything that was so tedious to type as it was. Just before I stopped using it I got a mouse and keyboard for it. It was my first and only real SP and I love it, but no real need to pay for service when I have the tracfone.

Wait...maybe it's 5GB. That would make more sense.. It wasn't the basic plan. Nor was it the premium plan.

I had to do the same thing a few months ago when my regular phone finally quit and couldn't be fixed. After I got it, someone called me and I couldn't even figure out how to answer the stupid thing. I didn't need it at all. I'm not a 16 year old girl that constantly sends text messages 24/7. I talk to real people in real conversations. Now people send me text messages and if I don't answer them right away they get mad at me. If they'd just acted like a person instead of a machine, and called me to talk to me with a real voice, even if driving I could still talk to them on my bluetooth headset. But I refuse to text them back, especially when it's not convenient, so they get mad at me. It's been a source of frustration ever since.

Despite that my current phone was a mistake, flip phones are extremely convenient. They don't track you, you can smash them for cheap when the Beast comes hunting you down for going on Christian websites in the future, and all you need to pay is 30-50 dollars a month, depending on what you need. You can get a smart phone with those plans, yes, and get unlimited text, call, and web for $30-50. But you won't be able to turn it 100% off, and Google will be watching you when your texting on the toilet.

:dancing

You: "Ok, Google, invade my privacy".
Google search result: "Too late. We've already been doing that for years".

Oh I hear you brother! I hate to communicate by texting but some people just don't care and text anyway... seems like the same ones that you wont return their texts too...wont answer their phone but will the text. smh. :neutral

Sorry the response wasn't quicker but I was in the hospital since Sunday. It seems I accidentally took too many Tegretol pills and my levels went toxic, oh and I also have pneumonia. It's good to be home! :clap

Forget texting. Sounds like prayer is more what you could use right now!!!

Well, Yeah, I am under spiritual attack overall. This much is apparent. I have plans, and someone (something) doesn't want me to engage this plan. They're doing a good job of it it too.
