Yeah, I thought democracy in Greece lasted 500 years.
And how about the Roman Empire.
And the Czars of Russia.
And the British Empire.
And on and on and on.

They had democracy but each new Caesar radically different and made the Nation have a different composition. The Senate was usually ineffective to do anything about it.

These other countries changed Constitutions several times.

Ours is still the longest lasting due to the checks and balances. None of the others had that.

This has gone entirely by the wayside at this point, and we as a nation are turning into some kind of new weirdness of massive WICKED central control over everything.
