Bible Study Some Reasons For Christians Speaking Ad Hominem.

A glaring weakness seldom confessed is the ready manner in which supposed followers of Jesus change an issue based discussion into unnecessary ad hominem.

Here is what might motivate them.

1.) Self righteousness upon their own Salvation. They presume to walk a higher path above those who do not think as they wish them to. This mindset unfortunately is demonstrated by Paul as he glories a wordy theology.

2.) Ad hominem requires verbal skills often possessed by those who are in a delusion to have "studied to show themselves approved unto God." They may have studied, but are not obedient. They have only looked into the glass and walked away. Kindness escapes them, as in a little child. They only want to lash out.

3.) For a person to speak personal ad hominem requires them to have the uncomfortable sense that they are at a loss for facts. They are in a corner, a defensive posture.

Let's think and see if there are other reasons for ad hominem amidst Christian discussion. Share some insightful ones.

Regards.
