Hey everyone!! (AE YEC OEC AGT AGE TE AG Ect...)

It's me BongChicken!!! Many of you don't know who I am. But, I know all of you. Isn't that scary? It's like "TheGreatBongChicken knows who I am(And how I debate!! :o )But I don't know him!!". Chances are if you did a search around this section you'd find maybe four post's by me at the most(This section, not the Gen. Theology section ;-) ) I have been lurking around this section for long drawn amounts of time and going from site to site, watching debate to debate, seminar to seminar, blah blah blah... I have been observing your techniques for debating and arguing and have a bit of mildly offensive advice for both sides to take.

First for the Evolutionist,

Summed up in three words it would be "SPEAK CLEAR ENGLISH!!!". Stop taking advantage of having an ignorant "Cut and Paste" audience by using big flashy words that nobody knows the meaning of accept you. It's no wonder people can't refute what you're saying, they have no idea what you are talking about. I know that you like to show off all the dictionaries you have read through by using big words but it really does nothing for the debate accept delay the reply or make the Creationist sometimes never reply because by the time he can get back to you you're busy debating someone else and they don't wan't to drag up an old debate ect ect... It's like mind games instead of debating. You need to use words that people who are just passing through can read and go "Wow, she/he has a good point." without having to go get a dictionary or go to some website to have it explained in common English(Because I hate to break it to you, most people don't want to look it up, they wan't something direct and clear. Something where there minds can say, "Yeah, I get it".). Some of the times that I have checked up on things people have said in response promoting evolution (And not all the time, just sometimes) it has been the equivalent of me saying "This table is red and blue. And it is made of wood and plastic, so therefore the ocean's tide is coming in early tomorrow and you nose will turn to stone and fall off in the morning. yup.". The only difference is they use big words that sound scientific, but what they are saying has no point. The points they make are in no relation to what they are trying to prove or put forth evidence for.(Now keep in mind, there have been several inteligent post by evolution, but I have seen the "Big words" defense several times and it just confuses most people. Stop taking advantage of an ignorant audience and provide an easy to understand, down to earth presentation.

Now for the Creationist,

Summed up in one word, "STUDY!!". The only reason that they can play unfair is because they have an ignorant oponent. You guys need to leard these "Big Words" so that when they use them in a debate you will be able to provide a witty clever answere( And it helps to reply with common words that everyone knows). And also, stop "Cutting and Pasting"!! It's one thing they definately have you beat in. You need to memorize the stuff (And there stuff) and have a presentation in your own words to refute. Go to Evolutionist sites, and check out all the Anti-Hovind sites. Don't be scared, once you leard all of the big words the stuff they have isn't so scary any more. You need to be up to date and ready to answere intimidating questions. Because they will come. Do not assume that everything you hear from a fellow Creationist mouth must be true, but rather check it out from both sides. Ask an evolutionist before proclaiming something to them. And as well, stop making little comments that you can't back up(I am guilty of this one myself in the past  ). Have your sources ready to put up. And make sure that they are accurate sources. There are some out there who have been proven wrong and are still out there using old classic refuted arguments(As well as on the Evolutionist side). And as well, be carefull what you do and say, it can and most likely WILL be used against you. Sometimes in an unfair way, but that's life. Be open to correction and if you are proven wrong on something, check it out first to make sure they weren't just making things up, and then if you find out you are wrong, then don't hesitate to correct yourself and admit you were wrong. Move on and don't dwell on it. And most importantly, remember that Jesus is what ties us all together, not whether we are YEC or OEC. More importantly, are Experience is why we are Christians, not our argument. And an Argument is nothing compared to and Experience.

Adios. From TheGreatBongChicken. 8-)
Keep up the good work and continue to entertain me and the other fellow C V. E Lurkers.

Hello BongChicken!

First for the Evolutionist,

Summed up in three words it would be "SPEAK CLEAR ENGLISH!!!". Stop taking advantage of having an ignorant "Cut and Paste" audience by using big flashy words that nobody knows the meaning of accept you.

Could you perhaps give some examples of big flashy words that have been usd by "evolutionists"?

It's no wonder people can't refute what you're saying, they have no idea what you are talking about. I know that you like to show off all the dictionaries you have read through by using big words but it really does nothing for the debate accept delay the reply or make the Creationist sometimes never reply because by the time he can get back to you you're busy debating someone else and they don't wan't to drag up an old debate ect ect...

I'm sorry, but I don't buy it. If a creationist finds the post of an "evolutionist" confusing for whatever reason, all they have to do is ask for clarification. I've asked for clarification a few times, there's no shame in it. Besides, it doesn't take that long to open up an internet dictionary to search for the meaning of a word.

It's like mind games instead of debating. In all honesty, the above is a great insult to the many educated creationists that frequent this forum. Also, are you implying that creationists don't use "big flashy words"?

Unfair? Seriously?

I agree with the above, especially the cut/paste habit, it tends to get irritating after a while.[/quote]

I have to take exception to the use of big flashy words there. What qualifies as a 'big flashy word"? Evolution is biology, so any discussion of it is going to include some biological jargon and terminology. Of course, it does not have to read like a published research article - perhaps more like something you would find in a popular science magazine like Discovery.

If such a discussion is above the heads of creationists then it is they who are at fault. Asking quesitons is one thing, but trying to debate from a point of gross ignorance is another all together. I don't debate about cricket with cricket fans because I don't know a thing about it - and if I did try to debate with them it would not be productive (and creationists should be aware that the bible teaches this point). However, if I asked questions with an open mind that would be different.
