The church needs to be there fir people with special needs. They should not be pushed away. Connect with them. It should be the safest place for them. That people don't treat them poorly. They are our gift. At my friend's church there are people with special needs. Down syndrome, autism ect. God said what you have done to the least of these you have done into me. Sometimes disabilities aren't visible. Encourage them to come to church. They are just as important as children to God. We need them to know they are not alone. If they can't come maybe they can watch online. Maybe Christians can stop by their house to check on them every once in awhile. I'm sure they feel guilty sometimes that they are weary doing it themselves. It is hard on them. It takes a community. They need us more so we need them. God does not look down on them just because they are different. You never know how hard they are trying and how alone and miserable at times. Noone should have to struggle alone. We need to be the hands and feet of Jesus. They should not feel ashamed at church, but just the opposite and this goes for the elderly too. We need to be involved in their lives. Not pitty. Ther not looking for pitty. They are looking for trust and love. Be that person. Be their voice.
