Alex Marshall and Emily Dilley, both seniors at Hamilton Heights High School, didn't go to the beach this year with their friends for spring break. Instead, they traveled thousands of miles to perform mission work in China.

It's not the first time Dilley has been to China. She went in June for a mission with Northview Christian Life Church in Carmel.
"After that first time, I said I wasn't going back," Dilley said, explaining how challenging it was to minister to people who knew nothing about Christianity.
But when she heard about a group traveling to China during spring break, she started to seriously think and pray about going to China again.
She also recruited Marshall. The two have been friends for several years and started dating six months ago.
"I really prayed about it . . . and thought I would like to give it another try," Dilley said.
Marshall, who attends Victory Chapel Community Church in Noblesville, had never been to China.
The group of about 24 students and adults left March 30 and spent nine days in the country meeting with Chinese students and spreading the word about Christianity. The group stayed in the city of Wuhan.
"We brought Bibles, and shared with them about ourselves and talked about Christ," said Marshall.
Marshall met with one young woman who was very interested in Christianity.
"She asked so many questions," he said. "She really wanted to believe in him (Christ)."
Dilley plans to major in international ministry when she begins her freshman year at Bethel College in Mishawaka in the fall.
"It's great to see how open they (foreign students) are about Christianity," she said. "They want to know about it."
In addition to visiting with students at the local high school, the pair traveled to the Great Wall and saw other amazing places in the country.
Marshall, who will major in music business at Anderson University, said he's very open to going back.
"It's a great feeling to know you've helped someone," he said.
