This is a good scripture! If we want to shine for Jesus, and be a light in a dark world, leading others to Him, we will have to study and become doers of the Word.

I guess I just accepted Jesus and I was approved then. Studying is just gravy now. I don't have to do works to be saved.

Studying His word is not works to be saved......Bluegirl am I missing something here or not getting what you meant ?

All I said was that being saved happens when I accept Jesus as my savior. Is there some other work I can do to be saved that can be added to that? No. I do think that reading scripture can bring the unsaved to be saved by bringing them closer to the Lord. Also, I think that it brings the already saved closer to the Lord. But as for saving, only accepting Jesus saves a soul. It's that simple.
