uh, no. . Judiasm is a faith, not something you are born into. otherwise the nation of isreal didn't have to follow the torah to be right with God. it does have an ethnicity to it but well what would I know. see my avatar as that is part of family's history its the cranman insurance building. I'm not a practice Jew and yet I am by my father's loins tied to this buildingNice political correctness.

not different. if I was a levite, I would be a jew if I lived in the southern Kingdom of Judea.a levite is not part of the two tribes that owned that land but definitely was given land to dwell there and a subject of the kings of Judah! other tribes also did dwell there and were called jews.People have all different beliefs what a Jew is. I would guess a Jew is anyone from the lines of Judah and Benjamin.

the bible mentions a female of the tribe of asher, the chaldeans called all that lived there Jews where they were of those tribes wasn't revelant.
all of isreal includes jews, the reason Jews call it isreal is because they believe that the moshiac will restore all the tribes to their rightful and and the land they got was in fact never fully abandoned by jews, since all jews are part of isreal they can call it as such.So why is Israel called Israel, it should be called Judea if everyone claims to be Jews.

might want to actually read what happened when Hezekaih was king and the northern kingdom which really was only two tribes, mannaseh and Ephraim , came into Judea and dwelt. during the return some of these went back to the capital of Judea and dwelt there. like I said not all the dwelt in Judea are of Benjamin and Judah. the priest, the Pharisees didn't offer sacrifices unless they were in fact a levite and yet a levite isn't part of the two tribes you mention and also had no land but dwelt in all the tribes to minister.
ugh, but the majority of the fathers who built and fought for the nation were.Israel is not even a very religious nation. Some people are very religious, but many are not. Its just like any other nation. There not all waiting for a Messiah or want to build a temple.

not all at the declaration of independence believed that Jesus was a God and many of the signers were diests. doesn't mean America wasn't founded on Christian principles. the jewish culture is something you will have to research on. I'm not going to reverify my lineage and stories about what I already know to be true so that you can see that Judaism is more then just a last name. if what you said was true paul couldn't be a jew and a Christian. he didn't lose his lineage but was no longer under the mosaic law when then was in fact the mark of a jew!
If you live in the southern kingdom ,what tribe were you ?if you were of a mannaseh?hello jasonc, dirtfarmer here
It is my understanding, but I may be wrong, is that Abram was the first to be called a Hebrew. According to Midrash Terah left Abram to mind his idol store and when he returned all the idols were smashed except for the biggest one, in which Abram put the hammer he used to smash the idols in it's hands. When Terah ask what had happened Abram told his father that all the idols got in a fight and the big one smashed all the others, to which Terah replied to Abram, the idols are not alive, and then Abram asked his father, "then why do you worship them?"
All Israelites are Hebrews but, not all Hebrews are Jews. After the kingdom was divide into the northern kingdom and the southern kingdom, the northern was known as Israelties and the southern kingdom, made up of 3 tribes were called Judah.

The sons and daughters fell into Judea during the reign of hezekia ,meaning they left their lands to dwell in Judah and by doing so they didn't keep their land but owned or dwelt on Judea lands and as such counted as jews but given a question of their heritage they don't loose their tribal name.see ezekiel 40 to 48 about that ,to wit the ransom money.hello jasonc, dirtfarmer here
It depends where you lived in the southern kingdom.
1. " Mannaseh" was one of Joseph's son in which divided his inheritance.
2. " Mannaseh" was an evil king that was the son of Hezekiah
