Tonight we are shocked, saddened and heartbroken to report that our friend and fellow worker John Winter is dead. Hillsborough Sheriff's deputies say Winter died of a self-inflicted gun shot wound. Winter joined WFLA-TV in 1994. He grew up in Seminole and attended Seminole High School.

John Winter was the morning meteorologist. Please pray for his family and friends. Also pray for the truth about this matter to be made known.
