Thankful? Really?

Eph_5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
1Co_15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

There was a family out of food, they had nothing to eat. So, the Lord asked me to go and help them out with that. I told them I was going to get food, lets go shopping, just get what you want. Before we even left for the store, they just thanked me over and over with tears. It really meant a lot to them that I just showed up and was willing to do that. It removed all the burden from them of what to feed their kids, and trying to figure out what they where going to do. They thanked me all the way to the store, and after we were done shopping.

Now, I kept reminding them the Lord ask me to do it, but they still just saw me as the one using my money and time to get them some food. They thanked me before we even went to the car, to drive to the store.
Well, whatever, it is more blessed to give than receive. Just to see them happy, and that worry removed from them made my whole week and some days after.

So the Lord then asks me.
What if they said,
"Do you have enough money to take us to the store?
How do I know that your really going to buy us food?
Well, OK, fine, I suppose you just want to get us a couple items to last a day or two, I guess it's better than nothing.
Well, when the food gets in our house, then I'll believe it, you sure you want to do this
?
I hope you keep your word, we really need food."

I thought about this. I suppose I would not be that overly happy then to go buy them food. If I tell someone I am taking them to the store, get what you want, I don't really expect that kind of response. I would not expect the overly happy response I did get, but nothing like that.

The Lord then told me...... "My people treat me exactly like that, they have this wait and see attitude toward me to see if I will keep my Word, and worry and cry, since they don't see it. If they treated me, like that family treated you, I would be able to do so much more for them."

Wow, OK. I was wondering if I was instructed to get food to get a lesson here. I mean I know we are suppose to be thankful to God, but I never saw it from God's side. This family was thanking me out of a sincere heart, fully knowing they where getting food in the house before we even jumped in the care to get food.

There is a difference in just thanking God for this or that, and thanking God because you fully know that What He said is a done deal and can not be changed.

Php_4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

If God said He was going to supply all your needs, then that would be a more sure thing than me saying lets go buy some food. I have to get you to the store in a car that can break down, a tire could go flat, the store could blow up, any number of things could stop us going to the store.

With God though, there is nothing that can stop what He said, no need to worry, or lay in bed thinking about it. No, you can thank Him sincerely that He said He would meet your needs. A done deal, no worries, thank you Lord!!!

A more sure Word than what Brother Mike can give, or any other human.

You can tell right away if you believe God for something. If you do believe, then you really are thanking him sincerely, and not just thanking him to be thanking him, or worse, worried He might not care enough to come through and not be thankful at all.

One thing that can stop God though, and that is if you get out of the car, saying, "I don't know if God is going to come through or not."

Stay in the car, thank Him all the way to the Store, and long after the food is eaten.

Brother Mike.
Followers of Lord Jesus Christ who are slaves to righteousness understand this.

John 14:21 Amplified Bible (AMP)

21 The person who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who [really] loves Me; and whoever [really] loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him [I will make Myself real to him].”

Thank you Brother, was kinda hoping a few more might understand it, but if only one does, good enough. I know in my own life, it's hard to be thankful for the 9 fingers that work, and not be focused on the one that got smashed. All 10 could have been in the way, and I have been trying to get back in cultivating a life of thankfulness toward God, and not just taking things for granted.

Thank you for the comment.

Mike.

You were peeking. :lol
Don't tell anybody, okay?

Lol, just repent man, we all been there. It's bad in those tongue talking circles. Everyone needs some special word from God to ensure everything is going to be alright. It's as if some are exempt from having to read scriptures and just taking God at his Word. I guess they are special people, who knows?

Last year, ummm. Could be two years ago, but I woke up and our power was off. I guess they want money to keep the power on these days, and we did not have a dime of it.

Wife was on me, and upset.

Did God tell you anything? God tell you what to do?
A man should be able to hear God for his own house!!!
You been praying enough?
I noticed the last few weeks, you don't spend any time with God.

On and on and on and on this women kept up at it.

Finally I give up, I said....... "Whoa..... That's it, thank you Lord"

She come bee lining at me, what God say? What God say?

I said, (Not trying to laugh) "Thus saith the Lord, I will supply all your needs according to my riches and glory in Christ Jesus."

She looks at me like I slapped her with a cold fish. "Your Just Quoting scriptures!!!!!!!"
I said what? "your saying God did not say that? Women, the power will be on today, and if God needed to tell me something, He can more than enough get it over to me, now just stop before you upset the big guy."

When you really believe the scriptures, it will look at times that you just don't care. Jesus said take no thought, and cast that care on him. It's not rocket science, it's all written down for us on what to do.

It was a half hour later this women we know shows up just to say hi. She asked if everything was doing OK, I said sure, it's all fine. So, she wants to come in, then she notices our power does not seem to be on. She pulls out her check book, writes me a 1,200 dollar check, and then says, "I knew the Lord sent me over here for a reason."

Glory to God, I went right down, paid the 1,200 and the power was on by 3 that afternoon.

We are all learning, we all need God. Thanks be unto God for the Lord Jesus, and this great love He has for us.

(now if I had obeyed a couple months back, the power would not have been shut off, guess I needed to repent)
Mike.
