Sometime ago I was studying this scripture "Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ..." (2 TIMOTHY 2:3-12); concerning Paul's statement in regard to the Christian as a soldier. These are the things that I have come to see that shows the similarities of a Christian and that of a real soldier.

  1. Once we have enlisted there is not turning back (Luke. 9.62)
  2. We have to count the cost (Luke 14:28)
  3. We must endure hardship 2 Tim 2.3
  4. The possibility exists that we can die on the battle ground (Phil. 1. 21)
  5. We must be single focussed. ((Matt. 6,22
  6. There is always a penalty for desertion. (Heb. 6. 4-6)
