The First Resurrection

I am bumping this thread for those who may be interested in fulfilled prophecy in the 1st century AD.

The Lord spoke to me last night regarding my personal situation in this life, at this time, which had nothing to do with Eschatology, & everything to do with His abundance & salvation.

Having said that, I have studied fulfilled prophecy for 5-6 yrs, after being born-again & blessed for 20 yrs.

The Lord helped me realize last night what is most important.

It is not in what the symbolic book of Revelation!

What is victorious for me (as I was born on a Palm Sunday) is my personal relationship with the Lord. How He speaks to me & guides, blesses, & protects everyone & everything in my life.
That relationship is even more important than the Bible itself- in the sense that we may feel & know we have so heard the word & understood it, bc faith comes by hearing the word of God.
And what it means to the members of the body of Christ individually, can be seen by a simple opinion one is settled with, like whether water baptism is necessary for salvation or not. It is not important what others opinions are. True religion is what James says- giving & caring for the less fortunate.

That's what I do. I do not pay attention to any slight bit of literature the 700 club may indicate in 1% of their mailings to me about Christ second coming.

What matters to me is the good works they do with any monies that is given to charity.

There's a wealth of preterist info online, but I would recommend ordering "The Parousia" (1886) classic, who is this Babylon by Don K. Preston, the works of Josephus, & Daniel's prophecies fulfilled for one's library.

I have many other interests & responsibilities that are not tied to religion- only the hope of the positive results from which the good Lord gave me the brains & skill & talent to achieve. And I will continue to learn more about them from secular & objective sources.

God Bless!

Here is the Preterist view of Rev.20:6.

I think it is presented quite well. Some may find it a stark contrast to what a strict literal pov implied.

Full Preterism: Firstfruits Generation and the First Resurrection of the Dead - Sovereign Grace Preterism

First I wish to promote this site PreteristArchive.com, The Internet's Only Balanced Look at Preterism and Preterist Eschatology. I like it because it presents many differing POVs and critisizms. It comes across more fair and balanced than many other sites i've visited like allthingsfulfilled.com and others.

As far as the videos and views of full preterism on the 1st resurrection, I will say the conclusions are easy to follow, but scripturally unsound and lack a firm foundation. It at one point references 1 Cor 15 which talks about Jesus literally and physically coming out of the grave and uses that passage to somehow support a "spiritual resurrection". That's not only a huge unsubstantiated leap, but it is also adding in unbiblical concepts like departs souls of the dead still living somewhere even though the person is dead. Such a concept is foreign to scripture. It also misuses Col. 2:12 and Romans 6:3 to prop up the doctrine of the 1st resurrection they alreay have in mind as opposed to letting scripture form their belief. The 1st resurrection mentioned in Rev 20 is clearly a physical one. It describes those party to it as those who were murdered (physically killed, martyred even) for righteousness sake. It is that group that was to undergo anastasis (a resurrection). That group sounds a lot like the group Jesus described in Matthew 23 that had been victimized by the Great Whore Jerusalem.
