The Image and L:ikeness of the LORD GOD

It is my understanding of Ezekiel 1: 26-28, that the image of the
LORD GOD, which is the image HE reproduced out of clay (the dust
of the earth) when making Adam (GEN 1:26-28), is that of a man;
therefore, i believe the LORD GOD had the image first. Furthermore,
the Likeness of the LORD GOD, which too was imparted unto the
image made of clay, was that of glorious, dazzling light; thererfore, i
believe Adam and Eve appeared as 'angels, even though they were
yet flesh. For this cause, because they were covered in light, their
nakeness was not apparent (visible) until after they sinned, when
they both died the death promised in the Commandment, which was
a spiritual death (GEN 2:16-17).

i believe that when GOD created the Heaven (singular) and the Earth
(GEN 1:1), He also made for HIMSELF an image in which to inhabit
the Heaven HE created. And in this image 'rested' all the power and
authority of GOD. This is the WORD which was in the Beginning,
which became flesh and dwelt among man in the personage of
JESUS CHRIST (JN 1-15).

Genesis 1:26 - And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness

us/our image/our likeness

us - god the father of spirit/his holy spirit/his word
our image/likeness - holiness & the fruits and gifts of god the father of spirit that is holy

us– god the father of spirit is speaking of himself in such a manner as to indicate that all of his majestic power and wisdom were involved in the creation of man. us meaning god the father of spirit, his spirit that is holy and his word.

our image/our likeness are synonyms - in our image/after our likeness - god the father of spirit is now no longer just a spirit. he manifested himself into flesh/word. he made himself visible. what does god the father of spirit and jesus have in common; god's word, the holy spirit, holiness and the fruits and gifts of the holy spirit. the fruits of god’s spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control / the gifts of god's spirit: understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, fear of the lord and wisdom – our image and likeness meaning the outward characteristics of god the father of spirit manifested into flesh.

don't confuse the words 'among' and 'within'. he dwelt within/inside of man because of his purpose behind his death and resurrection. the characteristics that are inside of one's flesh reflect outwardly.

Pllease show the scriptures by which you determine the truth of that which you have stated above concerning the Image and LIKENESS of the LORD, as i have dome referencing EZEKIEL 1:26-28, which clearly depicts HIS IMAGE (a man) and HIS LIKENESS (light). You seem to want to add to, or diminish from the WORD, which is a scriptural taboo (MOSES and JOHN both say so, one in DEUT 4:2 and 12:32, and the other in REV 22:18-19).

Wow! I really like your speculation because there is some Scriptural merit to it. You are talking about the Shekinah (Sp?) glory of God, the same that led the people of Israel in the wildernes; a cloud by day and a flame by night, when the glory of God filled the tabernacle. However, glory can mean good reputation. God says we are to glorify Him.
But we tend to think in earthly temporal values. If God promises to make us rich we think of gold and money. He probably is thinking of love and
faith, or eternal values. He promises to prosper us even as our soul prospers, but we glom onto the first part and leave out the soul part. So I can't help but also agree that the eternal life was contained in His Holy Spirit, which left when he sinned. So perhaps His Holy Spirit is the light and life that they forfitted.

i'm not sure what you are confused with, when speaking of god the words 'image' and 'likeness' are synonyms of each other, do you see how they are intertwined. do you agree with me that god the father is spirit and jesus is god of flesh.

truth is about the words in the scripture and not the scripture itself. when you say man and light, jesus is speaking about the light inside of himself, the light that comes from god of spirit; the light inside of man after baptism. i'm referring to definitions and not scripture because when you break words down by definition, it's easier to understand scripture.

who was god in the beginning, a spirit. since we're speaking of god, image and likeness are the same thing. god of spirit is speaking about his own characteristics inside of himself, spirit made flesh. since god the father is a spirit,
jesus was/is god of flesh, and his resurrection is true, only after baptism does the light inside of man consist of god's holy spirit, god's word, holiness and the fruits and gifts of the holy spirit. do you not know about his fruits and gifts.

faith is not based on scripture. in order to understand what he means by light, one must understand what baptism means. when one is baptized in the holy spirit they possess the fruits and gifts of the holy spirit, but we must remember that gifts are given, and spiritual fruit is developed by growing in grace.

example: do you feel love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control on the inside or outside of your flesh. is your soul and spirit on the inside or outside of your flesh.

example of two eggs: they may be 'like' one another, in that they are both eggs, but they are not 'images' of each other, because one is not copied from the other. however, 'image' does not mean equality. equality only exists in a perfect image. in the case of man, who was the perfect image of god; jesus christ, as he was both fully human and fully god. all other human beings are, obviously, imperfect images.

final example: two born again christians can be like one another in that they are both born again, but one of the christians might have a different image because he's deeper into fellowship with god.

The word 'image' refers to the visible: and the LORD FROM HEAVEN,
who is JESUS Christ (1 CORINTHINANS 15:45), is the Image of the
INVISIBLE GOD, and in HIM dwells the fulness of GOD (COLOSSIANS
1:12-19).

Consider:

The first act of creation was not an event that was spoken, it was
simply performed; however, every other act of creation was spoken
first. Must not the LORD GOD have had a mouth to speak with, and
a place outside HIMSELF to speak to, in order for things to occur
apart from HIMSELF? Then i submit to you that the LORD GOD had a
visible image in which HIS fulness dwelt in the Beginning, and it was
this image that spoke all the rest of creation into existence. But this
image was not before the Beginning, for GOD was all things and all
places (infinite). If the LORD GOD can come down to earth and dwell
in the flesh, then certainly HE can dwell in a body made of LIGHT in
Heaven.

Since HE created all things for HIS pleasure (COLOSSIANS 1:16),
then i believe HE had a mind to smell a rose, and taste honey, and
pet the creatures, and see the flowers and plants, long before man
ever did: which HE did since HE was on the completed earth first.
(GENESIS 1).
