I had a real encounter that I failed to witness effectively.
As I thought about it, here's how I would like to have changed it.

I was in a house of an old friend when I was a new Christian.
Without me knowing it, he invited some of my old friends.
They asked me a lot of questions.
They mocked me and God.
I eventually left.

But I would like to have said this;
"okay, you've had your fun, now let me ask you,
how does it feel to be made in the image of God?
now think about it?
God loves you so much that he made you in his image. How does that feel?
What can you tell me about a God that loves you so much that he made you in his own image?
Please, tell me".

What do you think?

I like it.You were defending your belief.I always have that "aaahhaaa" moment after the fact.When I can think of something that would have made them think.

The key is you were a new Christian. But now you understand that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. A child of God, created in the image of Lord Jesus Christ, subject to the fruit of the spirits and the character of God. As Jesus is so are you. You are able to do all things through Christ who strengthens you. If God be for you who can be against you. You have made our Heavenly Father your refuge and fortress, your strength and your rock. No weapon formed against you will prosper. You have now put on the full armor of God from the crown of head to the sole of your feet.

The scripture says it like this,

Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers.
2 But they delight in the law of the Lord,
meditating on it day and night.
3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do. Psalm 1:2-3 NLT

I think you are in the image of God, but I'm not sure the unsaved are or could even know that it's a good thing to be made in His own image.
I think Adam and Eve were in His image until the fall but after that maybe we aren't until we get saved.
I'm just not sure. :neutral

26 Then God said, “Let us make human beings[b] in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth,[c] and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”

27 So God created human beings[d] in his own image.
In the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them. Genesis 1:26-27 NLT
