Is the judgment a single day or a period of time? Please share your ideas, scripture, definitions of "Yom", and anything else that will help us see what the Bible says about this vital issue.

Every action we commit has it’s natural consequences. When we sin, bad things naturally follow. When we don't sin, good things narurally follow. I think that is judgment.

I have no idea how long that Day will be. Indeed it is a Day for everyone who stand in judgment.

I don't think it is a vital issue, however.

The judgement is poured out in a single day, the ramifications of that judgement roll on for ever.
Isaiah 34v1 Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it.
2 For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.
3 Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.
4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.
5 For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.
6 The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.
7 And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.
8 For it is the DAY OF THE LORD's vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.
9 And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch. 10 It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.

There are several judgements, which one?

Its a day in that its a alloted set time period for that business to be conducted. I wonder to if it will be of considerable duration simply because of the millions upon millions that must be Judged out of the books ! Yet I do know that God is omnipotent and can accomplish it quickly. But however long it is, it will not take up all eternity...

We are told that we will take part in the judgement. (1 Cor. 6:2-3) So the books are for us to view & judge by also, and the time needed surely will not be because of God not knowing the end from the beginning, but for us to understand, right? (even other worlds & angels that had not fallen) I believe that while during the checking of all the ones records Eccl. 12:13-14, we will also find our own recorded neglect of some lost ones. If we 'repent' & then make it ourselves, huh? (family, husband or wife or children) And it is not untile the heavenly city come back to earth after the 1000 years of judgement that all tear's are wiped away. (as 'i' see it.) So, I believe that while there is still time, I best be doing a faithful Loving work for Christ & His creation.

And Christ wept over Jersualem while beholding the city, (Luke 19:41) so this time will find us doing the same as I see it.

And if we are already there? we must have been judged before Christ comes again! (as He states in Rev. 22:11-14 + 'My reward is with Me..' & 1 Peter 4:17's 'House of God FIRST'!)

No sir, there is one day in which all judgements will be poured out. Remember (Vengance is mine saith the lord). And he has indicated that there will be one day in which he will pour out his wrath. Against all those nations/ peaples that rose up against Israel and the church throughout history. From what i can tell it looks like approximatly 4 billion peaple will be killed in one day.

Hi, ask yourself when seeing that that is true, (a FINAL EXECUTIONAL JUDGEMENT) how can you be not one of those being killed if you are not judged first as such?? Then, again, these are not you that have been judged as they, so they must both have been judged before hand.

I had given some verses that you must have not looked up? so will not post them again.

Well i simply see it a little differant then most. i suppose you are talking about the GW throne, and beama judgements but i see it simply as those who are saved are seperated unto christ, and those who are not saved are condemned already. The Day of the lord, or ones death, determining when judgement comes. The scripture displaying multiple accounts of the same event.

Rev. 20
[11] And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
[12] And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
[13] And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

The above ones do not seem to be in heaven except by RECORD BOOKS. And their WORKS are what tel's of their faith, or no faith, or even 'some' Spewed Out faith? Rev. 3:16's LUKEWARM.

And Eccl. 12:13-14 also states the same as 'i' see it.
Eccl.12
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His Commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (mankind)
13
For God shall bring every [work into judgement], with every [secret thing, wheather it be good, or wheather it be evil.]
