God once told me, and I have since come to see the truth in this, in history: The masses are always wrong.
That’s why God wanted to rule through godly kings, (like king David) and not through a democracy.

The masses mostly believe that they have a free will, that God will not ever allow a “saved†person to get lost, that they are eternally secure even if they sin. They mostly believe in a rapture that will save them from the purification fire of the (now at our door) tribulation. Most do not know what death to self means. They do not know the difference between having faith IN God and having faith in what God promises. They believe IN God, but they do not BELIEVE God. Most believe they cannot ever overcome sin in this life, they believe that they must do everything for themselves , that God seldom helps, heals or provides, if you can do it yourself.

So when we "get it wrong", we really get it wrong and then we teach it to others.

Why does God allow us to be deceived?

Scripture gives a few reasons. We are blinded by 'glamor" , we have more respect for people who have studied at a human institution, than we have for those who God has taught, through personal trials and revelation. We then submit to those who call themselves our "leaders" and then we sit down, open our spirits to them, and allow them to pour their seed into our hearts.

Psa 40:4 Blessed is the man that maketh Jehovah his trust, And respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Resulting in false teachings to become foundational material for generations to come.

We have submitted to the Nicolaitan error, which Jesus said He hated.

Rev 2:6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

This error is when you have a pastor, or preacher or pope or priest, that is the chief cook and bottlewasher. When one man is in charge. When you have somebody ruling over you. When somebody TAKES authority over God's people, who were not ordained in a Bible manner. When somebody with a human qualification goes and rules over the spiritual people of God.

Jesus says we have to do the opposite:

Mat 20:25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
Mat 20:26 Not so shall it be among you: but whosoever would become great among you shall be your minister; (servant)
Mat 20:27 and whosoever would be first among you shall be your servant:
Mat 20:28 even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

So now we have a one-man-band in most of our churches today (this part we did not change during the first reformation) (The second reformation is upon us and again the ones being reformed will persecute those doing the reformation . Why ? Because history repeats:Ecc 1:9 That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and its predicted in prophecy)

Here is what a Bible church MUST look like:

Eph 4:11 And he gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
Eph 4:12 for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ:
Eph 4:13 till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

OK, now everybody can see that this scripture has a time factor in it. It tells us till when we will have apostles, evangelists, pastors and teachers.

Eph 4:13 till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

So till you see perfected Christians walking in the full measure of the stature of the FULLNESS of Christ (wow) the Bible says that we are still going to need ALL five ministries to help us to get there. (but we have kicked them out of most churches , we kept one and that one we even sent to other humans, so that they can teach him. We do not want to wait for the Bible method. Most do not know what the method is, nor will most agree that , that is indeed how it must still happen today. Because ,most have listened to the very ones that this is about, those taught them and they are now just believing what they have been taught. Its just a circle of error all the time)

Who thinks that the reason we are not getting to verse 13 have something to do with the fact that we do not all allow these ministries in our "churches" anymore ? We cannot even get to the "unity of the faith" bit, let alone the 100% fullness and stature of Christ. MOST Christians even move this fullness to heaven, because they know that with things as they are, they are never going to make this.

This all is caused by the Nicolaitan error. Now we see why Jesus hated that system, because it kills the growth of His church.

Cornelius, I absolutely agree with everything you said. Except, for one nit-picky thing at the beginning of your address...God loved David's heart - what an amazing, amazing heart David had - but God wanted to use prophets, the people insisted on a king; that idol worship problem people have, which is why people vote in and listen to errant pastors in their pulpits.

Today's MUFHH devotional says it well - we need, as you say, to get to the point where we are mature in Christ and listening to His words for ourselves...

You are 100% Ivy and its not nitpicking. :)

I want to however try and retain the point, that God did not ever want to make us democratic.
God's (true) government as you pointed out is always spiritual (and will be so again), but His ideal is that He rules through His Word. (that would be true government, full of peace , love and truth and without sin )

God relented and gave the people a king, when they lusted after the ways of the world.

Good spot Ivy and thank you so much for pointing that out.

Cornelius

You're welcome. :-)

In my opinion, if people will read the book of Colossians wide awake, it pretty much tells us what is required and also what is not acceptable in the church...

"See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. For in Him all the fulness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and he is the head over all rule and authority." Col. 2:8-10
