Who are the men in white linen spoken of in scripture?

2Ch_5:12 Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:)

I did see that, Sister. But that is what raised the question. It doesn't tell me anything more than that...?

Just funnen a bit ...@Edward
Linen has to do with the clothing of the OT priest.

Rev_3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Psa_132:9 Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.

1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Linen is a deep study..

I'm seeing that also, that this could be deep. I don't think that I've ever heard the men in white linen mentioned here on the board so it has me pretty curious.

One thing that I did hear one time, (not on this board) was something about the cloud of witnesses...Do the men in white linen have anything to do with the cloud of witnesses? I'm not saying they do, I don't know if they do, I'm asking. Going from memory, I think that what I had heard before, is that there is a connection between the men in white linen and the cloud of witnesses...but I can't remember what exactly was said or the supposed connection? So...have any of you Brothers and Sisters ever heard anything like that?

The study of the Priest and their clothing and how 'Moese' Tabernacle was 'built' was back in the late 50s so my old mind has bits and pieces ... :) There must be some one here who has studied this ... We see it in the natural in the OT and then again in a better reality in the NT ...

I was also thinking of the clothes changing before entering the tent areas of the traveling tabernacle in the desert. But on doing a quick search, maybe this is what you are looking for:
Rev 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Yeah, that could be. The fine white linen must be representative of being washed clean with the blood of Jesus. Maybe the cloud of witnesses are these same? Saints having gone to the Lord...being used as witnesses to His work on earth?

Where else could they come from? Who could they be? They're not Angels, they're not the Lord...They're not up there sitting on a cloud playing a harp. They're doing something...being witnesses!
