Actually I have the reverse problem. I have to remove my glasses and look very close at small lettering to read it.

I have seen priests in action since I taught at a catholic university. They are deluded, sincere, mistaken, dogmatic, and all sorts of things and in between. They are also humans. I do see that in those I met there was a clubby tendency too - they feel pride and superiority to the flock and many felt they were exempt from things that others below them were not. It is a tribe of pharisees and unfortunately most of my family subscribes to it, thinks the catholics have it right. I don't argue with them. But the recent phone call of francis to a transgender probably upset my parents. I did not ask them. They did not mention it. I can only pray the Lord SHOW them what they need to see. They DO accept Jesus but they also think that Rome intercedes and must be obeyed without question. A huge mess there. I pray on it. As for spankings, parents have so little space left to raise their own children that I am glad that I am not raising children right now and that my children are grown.
