The other morning my cat came in from a night of his usual murder and mayhem. He fell asleep on a chair right outside my room where I was listening to Christian music. I looked at him and noticed how peaceful and calm he was. Later that day I saw him escorting a squirrel safely across the street.

The next morning he came in again from his nightly travels and fell asleep on the chair right outside my room. This time I was listening to a sermon by Creflo $. I don't know what he's going to do with them, but later that day he came back with a big bag full of nuts.

...David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him. 1 Samuel 16:23b KJV

So at least some music affects people.

For years I've been wanting to do a study of how the musicians lead the Israelites into battle. I owe it to myself to learn and apply God's principle of dispersing the enemy with praise and worship, because God knows we Christians engage in fierce battles with the enemy that grind us to pieces and make us useless.

My little fable was inspired by the fact that I've been listening to non-stop Christian music on YouTube for a few days now, at home and at work, and I have to admit something happens (I'm welling up in tears right now just sharing this). God is so awesome. Though I love music I've neglected, even criticized such an important part of the Christian's life.

Sometimes when I've been really frazzled I've put on worship music when going to bed. There's a radio in my room, but I usually sleep in the living room. I open YouTube on my tablet and play music off of there.

I find my day is usually better when I listen to the Christian radio station.

One man told me that he saw an angel with his hand on the singers head at church during worship service. There is more going on spiritually with music than many people realize.

Of course, one pastor made the point that if there is good music, maybe there may also be bad music out there.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: 1 John 4:1a KJV

The anointing is REAL.
Many years ago I saw the Holy Spirit descend like shimmering waves of transparent heat onto the congregation during praise and worship. I didn't talk about it for years.

I confess my spiritual life is taking a very positive turn. And it all started because I decided to listen to worship music instead of the steady diet of secular music I had been listening to. I'm not saying we can't listen to that. I'm saying we need to set the balance way in favor of Christ honoring, anointed music. I mean this, I have been so dogged by the enemy concerning various things in my life for many years that I wanted to die...literally die...NOW. That's all changed. I'm overflowing with joy and strength and faith. Right now I can't see my enemy. I don't know where he went.

11 "All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish.
12 Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all.
13 For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you...
(Isaiah 41:11-13 NIV)

Yes. We are often influenced by whatever spirit is being honored in what we consume whether we want to believe that or not. .

Well I sure am gettin' it now.

I think I need to take a page out of your book and listen to worship music more often. Lately it's been a steady diet of secular and anime music. Which I don't think is wrong, I'm careful about lyrics and all, but it's kinda like eating junk food all the time.

Out of curiosity I did a search on YouTube for Christian anime music. I got distracted by this though:
Whether in movies or cartoons, it's the same powerful story.

Yup, it comes in lots of languages, too, I think :)
I think the creator actually paid an animation studio from Japan to produce it, but I don't remember for certain.

Hm...Vampire Knight, DN Angel (Diasuke! <3 and Width(sp)), Clannad(!), Air, Ushio! (from Clannad), D.Gray Man(?)....naming the series in order of recognition, xD. But there's a lot of characters and series represented that I didn't recognize.

Two favorites:

If you haven't already, definitely check out Casting Crowns. Very Scripture based lyrics.
