Revelation 13
11Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon.
15He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause ALL who refused to worship the image to be KILLED.
16He also forced EVERYONE, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead,
17so that NO ONE could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

Guy.The verse you quoted is about the king of the north.

Where does the book of Daniel say the antichrist gives anyone the mark of the beast?
The best way to understand these things are to compare scripture.Run to and from through the scripture and compare them to each other.Insted of having two different stories of end times events ,you gain the knowledge and understanding of one true story of the end times events that are to take place.

Daniel 12;4
But thou,O Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, even to the time of the end;many shall run to and fro,and knowledge shall be increased.

The way to increase knowledge is to study.

  • Job 1:7 - And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

Guy is correct to quote those Revelation 13 verses about the coming antichrist. Those verses are showing the "another beast", a second beast, is about a certain individual, just like the Daniel 11 chapter is too.

Ok
I will study scripture and you walk around in circles.
Lets see who will gain more knowledge.

  • Isa 40:21 ¶ Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
Isa 40:22 - [It is] he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof [are] as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
Isa 40:23 - That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.
Proof-texting is Fun! :D

Revelation 12: 17Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring—those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus.

Thanks guysmith,

Compare Re. 13: 11-18 with Rev. 19: 20. The selections describe the False Prophet, a second beast (human being), who precedes Antichrist, and facilitates Antichrist's "resurrection" in the midst of Daniel's 70th week.

Rev. 13: 1-8 is a prophetic tableau (like the "woman" described in Rev. 12). The imagery recaps Gentile history presented in Dan. 7, and includes imagery specific to Antichrist (Rev. 3: 3-8) with reference to Dan. 8.

Antichrist's power seems all-encompassing. However, this may not imply that Antichrist unequivocally steers the will of every single person on Earth. Witness John's clarification: "all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Rev. 13: 8);" and Daniel's rejoinder: "the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits (Dan. 11: 32)."

If antichrists power is all-encompassing,then why is he only mentioned being in Judea?
Why is he not mentioned invading Europe,China or any other country for that matter?
Didnt Jesus tell those in Judea to flee?Yet you say there is no place to flee too.LOL

Yes the scripture say all who dwell upon the earth but what does the word earth mean?Have you looked it up?

Its a funny thing how the day of the Lord comes upon so many as a thief in the night with so many scholars teaching the antichrist rules the world. You would think if such a man did rule the world ,it would be a sign no one could overlook.

Thanks Shilohsfoal,

I said, “seems†all-encompassing.

I did not say, “there is no place to flee too [sic].â€

I’ll look up "earth."

You said, “You would think if such a man did rule the world, it would be a sign no one could overlook.â€

I agree.

I also agree that Antichrist performs primarily as an object of worship (abomination) in the holy place.

I tend to think the "another beast" of Rev.13:11 forward and the "false prophet" are one and the same, just different roles, because of how this parallels what the "another beast" does with working miracles in Rev.13...

Rev 19:20
20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Thanks veteran,

Agreed (I think).

There are two beasts: Antichrist (Rev. 13: 3-8) and False Prophet (Rev. 13: 11-18).

From Rev. 19: 20, we understand that deceit is the False Prophet’s primary character trait. By deception, he cajoles acceptance of the mark. By deception, he conjures extraordinary phenomena (miracles) in Antichrist’s presence. By deception, he coerces Antichrist’s worship.

I believe these parallel scriptures may confirm 666 as the number of the False Prophet and not Antichrist.

Whereas the majority of popular interpretations equate Antichrist with Daniel’s “prince that shall come (Dan. 9: 26),†and view the False Prophet as a religious vicar or a New Age wizard-like figure, I equate Daniel’s coming prince with the False Prophet.

I think the False Prophet is primarily an honored secular figure in the realm of high finance and philanthropy, and secondarily a false prophet insofar as he pretends to guarantee (confirm) Israel’s covenant (right to territorial safety).

Thus, the False Prophet is the 70th week’s prime mover. He inaugurates the week, enables Antichrist’s abomination (mid-week), and forces the mark.
