The Temple layout is 3 sections, or 4? I've been looking at images of Solomons temple, and this is what I think I'm seeing. Outer court, Inner court, Sanctuary, Holy of Holies.

I hope I can make sense of this. I feel as if I'm on the cusp of learning something new here, but it's hard to articulate. There's so many types & shadows in scripture that I feel as if there is something here to be learned, just not quite sure what yet.

I'm wondering if there may be a T&S connection between the Temple and...the flock? Let me 'splain...There will be rank in heaven, right? Four types of sheep? Followers, Friends, Sons, and Bride, right? So could the temple layout equate to that as a T&S?
Outer court= followers
inner court= friends
sanctuary= sons
Holy of Holies= Bride...?

How far one can go in, depends on the relationship...? Does this make sense? What are your thoughts? Do you know what I'm getting at? Can anyone shine a little light on this for me? Do you think the temple could be a T&S of some sort and if so, what?

Be gentle now, lol. I'm not saying that I know anything, I'm asking! :confused2

One other thing...Where exactly was the veil hung up? I think I know, but want to be sure.

I've been meaning to reply but have not. There are 4 'areas' of the Solomon Temple. Interestingly enough, there are only 3 in the original Tabernacle.

If you are relating what took place to what will take place, I'm thinking that your not going to find a correct answer.

The Tabernacle and Temple were typologies of Christ - and Christ alone. I'm not sure what you mean by T&S?

I don't think there are four types of sheep. What you list there are four different examples of a singular body. If that makes sense.

In heaven, in eternity, there may be different roles or things each of us will do - but I am not sure we are able to understand exactly what they will be. In the millennium we know that there will be a hierarchy of sorts. But again, I am not sure exactly the different roles each of us will play?

I think the key to it all is that God see's us all as apart of His Son. It is said that there will be no temple in Heaven - because He will dwell with us there, among us. I really don't think there will be levels of relationships at all.

Sorry if this is more confusing than not. Hope it might help some? Maybe I am not catching what your thoughts are correctly?

Yeah, you're catching my thoughts ok. T&S is types & shadows.
You don't think there will be levels of relationship? I think there will be. We see examples in scripture in different places of them. In one place it makes reference to the least in heaven, in John I think. In James 2:23 it makes reference to Abraham was called the friend of God, in Matthew 5:19 it says the people who do not practice what they preach will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven, John 1:12 says But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become sons of God, Matthew 5:9 it's, Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God, and yet in other places there's talk about the Bride of Christ! We're supposed to build up our treasures in Heaven too, that sounds cool. I kinda don't want to be called the least in heaven. Who wants to come in absolutely last in the race? It sure sounds like heirarchy.

I think that God loves all equally, being no respecter of persons, but it's not really about that, is it? It's about positioning. I have no illusions about being some sort of spiritual giant, I just don't want to come in last, lol.

It was after Jesus's resurrection, He showed Himself to 500, he sent 70 out 2 by 2, He invested His life into 12, He took 3 to the transfiguration, and they say that one knew His very heartbeat. The 500 didn't get to see Him Transfigured, not even the 12, only 3!

Then I got to thinking about the temple. The further in one went, the fewer people there were, all the way to the Holy of Holies where only one, the Priest could go. It's almost like, the followers in the courtyard, friends in the inner yard, sons in the sanctuary, and Bride in the Holy of Holies. I'm not sure if that's right or not, but the similarity is there.

Do you think that everyone that's received salvation will get to attend the Marriage feast? There's a verse that says we should pray to be found worthy enough to be able to escape the things that are coming to upon the earth, so there seems to be an implication that some will not.

You have good points. All I know is if there is levels I'll be low man on the pole. :)

I personally think all believers will be at the feast. Past, present, and future ones. I'm not a pre-trib guy, so I see the feast at the end. I think many will not have to go through the tribulation, but I do not think those will be dinning without everyone else.

It's definitely possible there will be different levels. I think once we are there it won't matter. I mean, our fleshly thoughts will be gone, so it won't be anything negative if that makes sense?

I don't think it will be like, "man, that guys lucky, he gets to go places I can't". :)

I don't think it will matter either, for the most part at least. But there are a couple places in scripture where reference is made to something that not all get to know or do...

Like the lady who asked Jesus to promise her that her two sons could sit at Jesus's right hand and left hand in heaven. Jesus said that, that is not His to give...?

I don't know, I might be looking for something that isn't there, lol

Not a lot of responses to this thread. It might scare a lot of people to talk about something that isn't real clear to begin with!

I can see where your coming from. That is a good example for sure.

I think its just one of those things that is so eternity oriented that it cannot even begin to be understood here. It still boggles my mind to think of why/how God is going to forget all my sin. So to go beyond that entrance into eternity is just so hard for me to grasp.

Of course, it could just be my personality also. I am the kind of guy that is easy going and is fine leading the pack, or kicking back and watching the pack go on by. So whatever it is that He will have me doing for eternity is fine with me. :)

Sorry the thread didn't work out like you had hoped. :(

Me neither.

You can't be least in the kingdom of God. John the Baptist has that position:

""Truly I say to you, among those born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist! Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he." (Matthew 11:11 NASB)

What exactly does this mean? I don't know. I think it has more to do with the absence of rank in the kingdom than it does with there being a system of rank. Perhaps it means the lower positions are actually the more exalted positions in the kingdom, humility and lowness being the more righteous, and therefore, more desirable positions in the kingdom. Think about it, if you or I were something great in the church in this life, would we really want to be exalted above others in the kingdom? No. By virtue of being righteous in heart and mind (assuming we were, lol) we'd take the lower place and be content with that, while someone else takes a better place. I'm thinking about Luke 14:7-11 NASB.

IMO, the Temple is best understood to be a T&S of the believer. The Holy place behind the curtain is the heart of the person. That's where God comes down and meets man--in the inner sanctuary of the heart. I think you'll find more truth and edification if you start your journey into the meaning of the literal temple in this vein. It's a very interesting study.

Yes, the man = temple study. That is a good one. I'm a visual person so that kind of thing talked about in the Bible helps a lot.
