Our small church operates a food kitchen on Saturday mornings to provide hot meals and fellowship to people in need in our community. We've run the kitchen for three years, and have served over 50,000 meals. We pick up people at nearby shelters and retirement homes using our church vans.

This afternoon I got a call from a friend letting me know someone has stolen gas from the three church vans we have parked in the lot, and the fuel lines have been cut.

Discouraging. We put a lot of time and energy into this ministry.

That is terrible.
It is getting so bad, hardly nothing surprises me anymore.

The spirit of Satan is all around.

Try to do good, and there you go....
Sometimes it seems like when you do something good, the devil wants to take it back.

Just like sometime ago, my husband stopped for a lady that had a flat tire to help her, and what do you know, he gets a flat tire a few days later....

I can remember we didn't have to lock our doors or Windows...
Kids and teens had curfews from their parents..

God will repay! Amen
Can't wait to see that glorious day, when there will be true peace on earth...

Sorry to hear this...

I'm sorry you and your fellow church members have experienced the vandalism to your vans, Mike S. What senseless destruction :shame

Nothing to be discouraged about. Replace the lines, fill up with gas, and carry on. :thumbsup

Even when we do good things for the community we are not immune to the bad things people will do. Chances are they may not have done it as an attack against your church. Just looking for gas and an easy way to get it is to cut the lines and bleed off what they need...or want.

What did Jesus say?
“But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back." Luke 6:27-30 NKJV

No, we're not immune. It's discouraging for a moment, but it comes with the territory.

Oops, sorry, I was still editing my post. Didn't realize you would respond so quickly.

Yeah. The devil knows that.
Him no likie.
The more you do to rescue people from the devil, the more teed off he will get.

Consider it an affirmation that you are doing God's will.
