The tetragrammaton YHVH is pronounced Yehovah, “yeh-ho-vah”, and the name of Christ is pronounced Yeshua, “yeh-shoo-ah”, where the name of Yeshua includes the name of Yehovah in his own name in the YE part of the name, in shortened form from the longer version of the name Yehoshua, which is a contraction of two words, Yehovah and yasha, which means, “Yehovah delivers”. Exodus 3:15, Exodus 17:9, 1 Chronicles 24:11.

Read the full study here about the name of God, http://www.wisdomofgod.co/2018/07/26/the-true-pronunciation-of-yhvh-and-the-name-of-christ/ .

I agree. There's various 'name' movements about and I heard all sorts of pronunciation of these two names. But from what I know when I read Hebrew, the vowel marks are such that the pronunciation is as stated in the study. That said, I don't know who puts in the marks (as there are no vowels in Hebrew -- those are there for dummies like me to property read the word if I don't know what it means.) Like the Jews, I use (pronounce) Ha Shem for YHVH even though it's the family name, I am not raised in glory yet, so it may be best to not mess with it and break the third commandment. I'm still waiting the inheritance of that Name and all it entails. Boggles the mind.

The marks for vowel pronunciation were not added until long after the last Scripture was written. And Jews had forgotten the correct pronunciation, the Name having fallen out of use, having been forbidden.

The Hebrew Scripture was written in is a "dead" language; nobody has used it for ages.

We have no idea what the correct pronunciation is. Yehovah may be more likely than Jehovah; I don't have a problem with either but He hears and answers my prayers even though I don't know this factoid ...

Whosoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved does not mean He's the grammar police, lol

amen Razeontherock

i will try to find the link - but there is a north (or south) american indian tribe that has jewish history/influence from ancient times and they have pronounced יהוה YHVH as ee-ah-oo-ah since ancient times

it is thought that this is the vowel form of the letters yud - hey - vav(waw) - hey - the only 3 hebrew letters that can be either a consonant or a vowel - all other hebrew letters are exclusively consonants and need a vowel point added

i also love the sound of Yah-weh

i have also heard Ye-ho-wah which is very similar to ee-ah-oo-ah

i think the sound of love coming from our heart is what YHVH hears anyway - so however we express this love with whatever pronunciation we use is for sure a beautiful sound to YHVH's ear

Now THAT is theology I can get behind!!

How about discussing the gem associated with hearing, engraved with the name of one of the 12 tribes? It speaks of ascending, like a staircase. I don't think this is what Led Zeppelin had in mind with their song Stairway to Heaven - their loss

There are still Jews today that know the correct pronunciation. One time a year on the day of Atonement the holy name would be uttered. It's not lost, but it is still highly revered.
Outside of the Jewish faith, I dont really know how you would know the correct pronunciation. For me, i just say yud hey vod hey.... the sound of breathing...

the sound of breathing...

When that idea first popped into my mind it gave me chills. This is the first I've heard someone else say it, although Truthfrees came close and I almost said this in response.

I got those same chills, reading this. I don't know that means God is telling me this is true, but can you imagine how freaked out Pharoah would've been, demanding Moses tell him who sent him, and Moses just breathes audibly at him?

Then you shall flee through My mountain valley,
For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal.
Yes, you shall flee
As you fled from the earthquake
In the days of Uzziah king of Judah.
Thus the Lord my God will come,
And all the saints with You.
Zechariah 14:5

Thus the Lord my God will come, and all the saints with You.

I think that it's unique that in no other language but Hebrew "I am, I Will Be" there exists no other word that is equivalent to this one word with the two meanings at the same time. All others require several words to express the same meaning.

when Yahweh God formed the man of dust from the ground, and he blew into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.

Jesus spoke (blew this sound out His mouth):

The wind blows wherever it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

I got that from Jewish Kabbalistic writings and audio I've listened to and it sent the same chill through my body.

If there is a connection, think of it like this. What's the first thing a newborn baby has to do outside the womb? What's the last thing we do before we pass? Is it possible the first and last thing anyone does is say Gods nsme?

We all are created in Gods image. So next time you hear somebody tell you they dont believe in God, you'll be hearing them say Gods name in every breath.

I get these chills sometimes (studying Scripture, powerful sermon, Sunday School, even in a great movie or book about true sacrifice/love (rare these days), etc. I still recall the most powerful time (oh my over 40 years ago now) when I accepted Christ as Lord.

Maybe a survey/thread; Who gets chills when the Spirit is speaking to you?

Nah, to debatable I suppose.

Exactly! While I haven't thought of this in terms of apologetics, (why not??)

this train of thought does such a good job of reflecting that life does not exist apart from God. Although I enjoy the poetic way John phrased it in 1:4

⬆️ That’s Too Cool For School.

Developing babies need oxygen beginning early in pregnancy. But a baby won't take their first breath until after birth. This means that babies don't truly breathe in the womb. Instead, the umbilical cord provides the baby with oxygen until the first breath.
Lung development begins early in pregnancy, but is not complete until the third trimester. Between 24-36 weeks of pregnancy, the lungs begin developing alveoli - the tiny lung sacs that fill with oxygen. Until these sacs are fully developed, a baby cannot breathe on its own outside of the womb.
Women giving birth sometimes worry about how their babies will breathe, especially as the baby travels down the narrow confines of the birth canal. The umbilical cord continues to supply a baby with oxygen until after it is born.
⬆️ Thanks mom!

What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be astonished that I said to you, ‘It is necessary for you to be born from above.’
John 3:6-7 - https://www.biblegateway.com/passage?search=John 3:6-7&version=LEB

⬆️ Thanks God (Father)!

If you ever have a Christian apologetic conversation with someone who says they are not religious but that they are spiritual, tell them; Cool, The Bible says that God is Spirit and that you were created in God’s image. And watch their reaction!

Once they think it thru, add; And you can know God. Want to learn who?

No, but His Spirit was there when I became crucified in Him (evidently).

In a sense, we were! Jewish thought contains the idea that all who have ever participated in the Passover meal, do so together. Time being no barrier.

Of course we know that first Passover meal was a type, foreshadowing the Crucifixion. This gets deep! Fellowship of the Saints, and all that ...

This gets deep!
Yep.
BTW, “deep” studies of human physiology (human physical reaction study) shows several things occur to the body during these ‘chills’.
What’s more, out of all the physical changes measured (take a deep breath for this one) only respiratory depth (RD) indicates an indirect correlation to the skin “chill” (piloerection) response.

Go figure. If I didn’t know better (wink), I’d say Some Thing is adding it’s breath to ours during these events (technically just prior to it which is also interesting) which works it’s way through our body and makes our ‘skin crawl’.

Last Sunday a good friend of ours who recently moved to Texas passed away. We found out Sunday about 2 pm. Here is the story that sent us chills.

Last Winter I had to take him home. He was so drunk he couldn't stand. He ended up puking in, on and over my car. It took months to find it all and get the smell out. (Ionizers work miricles).

Sunday morning when my wife got in the car, she said she smelled his puke. Then brushed it off because obviously, the smell has been gone. We looked at each other and both said, that's kinda weird.

I dont know his exact cause of death, but I'm certain it was drug and alcohol related.
