An argument put forth from theists claiming to prove God exists is the argument that our universe appears organized. Well science , specifically physicists have demonstrated how chaos or disorganization leads leads to organization. They may not understand why but have shown that it is a natural phenomenon.

"While working on a network of interconnected pendulums, or "oscillators," the researchers noticed that when driven by ordered forces the various pendulums behaved chaotically and swung out of sync. That event was unexpected since the researchers anticipated synchronized forces would yield synchronized pendulums."

"The thing that is counterintuitive is that when you introduce disorder into the system ... the chaos that was present before disappears and there is order," said Sebastian Brandt, a physics graduate student and lead author of the study."

Now that, Rez, just 'don't make no sense'. That's like saying that I could squirt a bunch of different colors of paint on a canvas 'enough' times to eventually create the 'Mona Lisa'. I don't see it.

And the monkey's typing thing..............................yeah right. Sounds interesting, but that tree falling in the woods with no one to hear it, STILL makes a sound. Guarantee you that the birds skitter and the other animals scatter when it happens. So, just because I don't hear it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

As this concept has elicited the thoughts and imaginings of 'some' men, doesn't make it ONE BIT worthy of even consideration. NO more than an idea that randomness 'creates' order. Just the opposite my friend. Every thing decays, THAT in itself proves the fallibility of your idea or anyone elses concerning chaos developing order.

Another one who didn't read the article. I haven't a clue what you are referring too.

Sounds like someone introduced some synchronized order into Imagican's Random Tangent Generator. ;)

I think that article's pretty cool. Chaos theory has always piqued my interest.

The internet has proven that a million monkeys typing on a million keyboards will not produce shakespeare. However you really destroyed the principle understanding of the 'tree falling in a forest' question. That noone is around to observe an action period, no people nor animals, what have you. It means to question your understanding of interconnectedness and how nothing can be observed nor understood in a vacuum. (at least that was my take on it)

As for the article, it is a rather interesting concept but I wonder how it works in regards to entropy. Although, are the 'chaotic' ones truly acting out of order with each other or is the observation just being taken too far out of scale?
