Some people think Matthew and Mark conflict and get a bit confused so I will try figure it out.
"These were his instructions: “Take nothing for the journey except a staff, no bread, no bag, no money in your belts. Wear sandals but not an extra shirt."
So: 1 belt, 1 staff, 1 pair sandles, 1 shirt. Nothing else. No money in belt, no extra shirt, no bag..
"Do not get any gold or silver or copper to take with you in your belts—no bag for the journey or extra shirt or sandals or a staff, for the worker is worth his keep"
So: 1 belt, no bag, no extra shirt, no extra sandles and no extra staff.
So that's 1 belt, 1 staff, 1 pair sandles, and 1 shirt. Done.
Both verses just say 1 belt, 1 staff, 1 pair sandles, and 1 shirt.
There we go. Easy.
