I have a solar charging flashlight that I hang on a lamp. Don't use it much, but it's always charged but, to charge in 10 seconds under indoor lighting, that's promising.
It only charges fast because it stores so little energy. There is only so much energy in light. If you want to store enough energy to accomplish something useful, it takes hours of light to store it up. Plants need many hours in the sun each day to get enough energy from light.
Combining the battery and solar cell could potentially make the device lighter though. Useful.
