Here's a link to a wonderful new article about JS Bach's humble attitude:-

As an ex-professional entertainer, previously in 3 gospel bands - (The Lifelines, mid '60s, Barry Crompton's Harbinger, early to mid '70s & prison ministry band The Beacons, late 70s, as well as multimedia drama troupe Roundabout Releases, early to mid '70s) - I thoroughly recommend that feature to anyone involved in the performing arts 8-)
It's not only a great safety net to help avoid much stress/strife, but can even be a lifesaver (if ego problems can induce heart attacks, etc)
God bless!
