I’m a 1John 2:2 man myself, but here in Hebrews it seems to be saying that Christ’s sacrifice took away the sins of many – not necessarily all?
“So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of manyâ€
(Heb 9:28)
Was the atonement limited to less than the whole world? (ie.to many?) How do you read it?

Try reading the whole verse as one unit. And you might read chapters 9 and 10, the context of the verse. Do so more than once and you might have a whole new understanding of what is being said. John clearly says that Jesus was the propitiation for all. The word many in Heb 9:28 doesn’t automatically mean few. The author of Hebrews is saying that in order for the propitiation to be applied, at least one condition must be met. The ones to whom salvation is applied must be looking for him to come back without sin into salvation. In other words, they must be trusting Christ for their salvation. Other conditions involved depends on what denomination you are in.

Hi, kind of deep for most, huh? First as 'i' see it, Rom. 4:17's last part of the verse teach's me of the Lord's (Godhead) Eternal Forknowledge. (Not ours!:study)

And James tell's of this all as in an Maturing Loving Working Faith process for what the Godhead already had Eternally Known. James 1:15 (finds ones life's start to finish. 1 John 3:4 finds sin still very visable there in ones ending of the maturity process one way or the other)

OK: 1 John 5:16-17 has it (sin) from start to finish up to a point of the sin against The Holy Ghost. (Gen. 6:3's example)

So, I find that the Lord's for/knowledge plan did not have the Christ/God suffering past this Eternal known by them, last Eternally lost point. How could that be LOVE FOR CHRIST by letting Him suffer & die for nothing?

The point of Their Love for mankind was that they would have a way of escape, if they held up their (man's) [END] of the Agreement.. called the Eternal Covenant! Heb. 13:20. (and others verses? try Phil. 4:13 + 2 Cor. 12:9 with Rom. 8:1 and then verse 14)

And yes, I see Eternal life Conditional with all the Provision Freely GIVEN. Nah. 1:9

And in Rom. 2:14-15 we see that God had His PLAN also for all of mankind to yield [IF] they would, to the STRIVING OF THE HOLY GHOST!:thumbsup His Nature.

can you prove that point as in a matter of truth?
or must one agree on it?
must it be kept so?

i liked the 2ns post since it is open clean and clear in telling, think more and broaden your opinions overall. but inthe and you might just be left of using the word 'compact' and nothing else..

or you say no i didnt get the message at all that brightly as in fair and nice.
i through it out if it remains like that and doesnt comprimise within the context it has'

where to you would have to make decissions on whether to take things literal symbolic or a mental mixture of both worlds.

i think knowing how and why christ died might bring or shine a light upon what is the truth in reply to the quote of taking many' sin.

let us not forget the rights of life as how it goes..

mass disturbtion and obsession in many ways have been after for real, but also before jesus.
can a real christian..even kill a amn without his conscience playing? intead of being obsessive any way.

now i guess jesus was pretty much a lot of thinking afterward or bound to facts before him, wether it be in word's written in books or real life. and whatever intention played for believe. whatever facts they where.

i'd say the pure mental ,sin, are forgiven at instance, any way as long as you stick with that. as in a lifetime's worth a rule' but then you must not move to much and keep your mouth shut and all and stick with that. so far for mentally sin.

is my life worth, i would even plie for it that mental sin is the pravacy of any being.
mental sin, here me talking.

what you do mentally is not even sin, since if a storm would blow up of mental thoughts, you might not think at all. due to.. all them powers, you know.

so i am not really quoting any book or body, just telling you straight from this hart i got, still. and it is my opinion as i said above for the mental part.

besides mentality, all lessons are known and tought.
like dont hit/kill
dont namecall or curse..

now i'd like to think about covenant elija speaks of and so many do.
i allready said a bit about it.
now the covenant has been brought through here into real life (as in society) further then maybe anywhere or so. for reality that is. (netherlands)
if you want to talk about the covenant, which agreement was made through or by on these matters, of sin.

what i ment to say is that i gues our grondlaw is near to perfect, based upon the covenant.
since jesus himself as we agree on has said i do not stand against the law' but i give another command or two. to which is agreed. near to perfect.
so there is no doubt about that for the western/christian world.
no doubt elijah.

now so far seen it's not all me in there, besides the talk about mental thought.
which is bound to reality and has free will.
but i want to say again which is boun to reality as in material(s).
dont worrie there's many.

and what i said above that agreement is required.
voluntery:D (i know, i allready said so)
which takes away if brought to right things such as not going evil to evil
no deathpenalty, if fully served.
and certainly not sacrifise of the one believer' or a dozen.
so far for covenant.
within real life.

so the sin should be gone. and law and free will, on. without a hurting conscience
and as my grandmother allways told me obay the rules of the goverment.
i choose to follow as good as possible:D (for the cash is that smiley)
for the rest the things i have done wrong i believe i payed back or mourned over to much...

and for me pursisting on full justice to be applied the right way, as we are called and change, or call ourselves and change or fullfill and maybe obay perrfectness to solutionary ways.(there's timothy and uhh truth).
so i will see how i be believing in great words with unaccaptable ending to me self'
there and thats where i seek the infinite truth for not letting god and his only begotten son to be of dead and mourning!, but make it up the best possible, for example by serving the holy ghost and jesus and so. and 'every' written word or living' word understood.

and even live for it solarly perhaps to try and always be at service of god's (right)hand(s). and help a sister or brother.

i go try and enjoy the sun now among who i am with.

so shortenned...

He took away the sins of all of the many. 1 Jn 2:2 is limited to those Christ died for and reconciled to God Rom 5:10 .

To be propitiated for, one must had been reconciled Rom 5:10

10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

So all who have been reconciled by propitiation shall be saved by His life. We know that cannot mean everyone without exception, so 1 Jn 2:2 is limited to whom shall be saved by His Life.
