Truth - that which is reliable, constant, consistent, faithful, unchanging,... The emphasis being that Truth is objectively reliable. I believe most occurrences of the word truth in the Bible are used with this concept intended.

Many of the primary definitions given in the dictionaries today define Truth as "That which is true or in accordance with fact or reality." But the original English word means "fidelity, constant, reliable..." (you may have to scroll to the bottom of the list of definitions to find the "archaic" definition of the word). A post-modernist will insist that reality is subjective and therefore truth, if it exists at all, is subjective. Maybe this is the reason for the adjustment to it's primary definition/meaning/concept.

Some of my observations on Truth based on the concept of the word as stated above:

Truth Exists
  • There exists either that which is Truth or that which is not Truth.
  • It cannot be that only non-Truth exists.
Therefore, Truth Exists.

Truth Requires No Acknowledgement
  • Truth Exists.
  • Truth is not altered, does not change.
Therefore, Truth Requires No Acknowledgement.

Truth Is Objective
  • Truth Exists.
  • Truth Requires No Acknowledgement (that is, Truth remains unchanged independent of the observer).
Therefore, Truth is objective.

Truth Is Timeless
  • Truth Exists.
  • Truth is not altered, does not change.
Therefore, Truth is timeless.

It is True and reasonable that Truth has always existed and will always exist. Truth is discovered/revealed as opposed to being created/invented.

Being steadfast and reliable, the Word of God is the equivalent of Truth.

Jesus is "the Word" according to John 1:1 And 'the Word' (which is a direct reference to Christ) is God, and has been with Him since the beginning.

Also, don’t overlook another important teaching, John 1:4-5. Jesus is the light of all who are willing to observe it and that light pierces the darkness. If it hasn’t already, that might bring to mind the first Words spoken by God Genesis 1:3 - "And God said "Let become (appear?) light." Notice at the instant that our Father opens His mouth that Light immediately emanates out into creation and the formless voids / confusion of the previous verse? (Gen 1:2-4) God’s Word redeems the world and serves as Light, Truth and the ability to understand and deliver from darkness and confusion (make sense of things). That's pretty handy for the journey through the world that we all are making.

I think it is accurate to say that Jesus, Truth, and Word of God are essentially synonymous terms and that light is closely related to Truth. Both serve to cast a clearer understanding of the scriptures, and the otherwise darkened, confused world that we are journeying through.
