UNDERSTANDING THE BOOK OF REVELATION:Chapter 6

Unless you have a strong aversion to news reports,this thought must have crossed your mind recently:OH NO! THESE MUST BE THE BIBLE PREDICTED "LAST DAYS"!! Hey you sure are perceptive !!! With the firm belief that we are now entering into the Tribulation period,I am publishing a series of studies of the Book of Revelation,that difficult to understand road map that shows exactly where we are headed,using the easy to understand Contemporary English Version (CEV) Bible that has been created by the American Bible Society.I will then add insights in capitol letters which will provide explanations and historical background information for the words you have just read, which will be in agreement with leading biblical commentaries,in order to at long last make the startling predictions made in this important and fascinating book comprehensible. I will occasionally make changes in the CEV words if I detect variance from the meaning found in the King James Bible.



Revelation 6



1 At the same time that I saw the Lamb (JESUS)open the first of the seven seals, I heard one of the four living creatures shout with a voice like thunder. It said, "Come and see!" (THIS IS THOUGHT TO REFER TO START OF THE END OF THE TRIBULATION PERIOD WHEN JESUS WILL BEGIN TO DRAMATICALLY CONTROL EVENTS ON EARTH) 2 Then I saw a white horse.(THIS IS THOUGHT TO BE A REFERENCE TO THE ANTI-CHRIST) Its rider carried a bow(NO ARROWS ARE MENTIONED WHICH IS THOUGHT TO PREDICT THAT HE WILL SLOWLY AND POSSIBLY SECRETLY PREPARE FOR WAR) and was given a crown.(THIS IS THOUGHT TO PREDICT THAT HE WILL TAKE OVER THE CONTROL OF A NATION) He had already won some victories, and he went out to win more.(THIS IS THOUGHT TO PREDICT MILITARY CONQUESTS OF NATIONS IN THE MODE OF ADOLPH HITLER )3 When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come and see" 4 Then another horse came out. It was fiery red.(THIS IS THOUGHT TO PREDICT WAR) And its rider(THIS IS THOUGHT TO BE A REFERENCE TO THE ANTI-CHRIST) was given the power to take away all peace from the earth, so that people would slaughter one another.(EVEN MORE THAN PRESENTLY WITH OUR CURRENT DEATH TOLL OF ONE PERSON DYING EVERY 2O SECONDS DUE TO WARFARE!!) He was also given a big sword.(THIS IS THOUGHT TO PREDICT THAT THE ANTI-CHRIST WILL START HORRENDOUS WARS) 5 When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come and see" Then I saw a black horse, (THIS IS THOUGHT TO PREDICT FAMINE)and its rider had a balance scale in one hand.(THIS IS THOUGHT TO PREDICT THAT FOOD WILL BE STRICTLY RATIONED) 6 I heard what sounded like a voice from somewhere among the four living creatures. It said, "A quart of wheat will cost you a whole day's wages! Three quarts of barley will cost you a day's wages too.And see that you don't ruin the olive oil or the wine."(THIS IS THOUGHT TO BE A WARNING TO NOT HARVEST FOOD CROPS BEFORE THEY ARE RIPE WHICH OCCURS IN FAMINES)7 When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come and see". 8 Then I saw a pale horse. Its rider was named Death, and Hell's Kingdom followed behind.(THIS INDICATES THAT MOST OF THOSE WHO DIED AT THIS TIME WERE SENT TO HELL) They were given power over one fourth of the earth, and they could kill its people with swords, famines, diseases, and wild animals. 9 When the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of everyone who had been killed for speaking God's message and telling about their faith. 10 They shouted, "Master, you are holy and faithful! How long will it be before you judge and punish the people of this earth who killed us?"11 Then each of those who had been killed was given a white robe (A SYMBOL OF RIGHTEOUSNESS)and told to rest for a little while. They had to wait until the complete number of the Lord's other servants and followers would be killed.(GOD'S PUNISHMENT FOR THEIR MURDERERS WOULD BE DELAYED UNTIL THE END OF THE TRIBULATION) 12 When I saw the Lamb open the sixth seal, I looked and saw a great earthquake.(THE FIRST OF MANY) The sun turned as dark (CAUSED BY SMOKE AND DUST CREATED BY THE STRONG EARTHQUAKE) as sackcloth,(THIS WAS A DARK COLORED CLOTH) and the moon became as red as blood.(PROBABLY THIS COLOR CHANGE WILL APPEAR BECAUSE OF ALL THE DUST IN THE AIR)13 The stars (MOST LIKELY THESE WILL BE METEORITES THAT ARE COMMONLY CALLED "SHOOTING STARS") in the sky fell to earth, just like figs shaken loose by a windstorm.(THIS UNDOUBTEDLY WILL CAUSE TREMENDOUS DESTRUCTION) 14 Then the sky was rolled up like a scroll,(GOD IS FINALLY GOING TO STRIKE FEAR EVEN INTO THE HEARTS OF ATHEISTS) and all mountains and islands were moved from their places.(A MASSIVE EARTHQUAKE HAS ALREADY CAUSED AN ENTIRE INDONESIAN ISLAND TO RELOCATE TO A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT LOCATION) 15 The kings of the earth, its famous people, and its military leaders hid in caves (OH PRAISE GOD!) or behind rocks on the mountains.(A HARD PLACE FOR HARD HEARTS!) They hid there together with the rich and the powerful and with all the slaves (THE LATEST ESTIMATE IS THAT THERE ARE NOW OVER 27 MILLION SLAVES OF DIFFERENT VARIETIES IN THE WORLD TODAY.THE COUNTRIES MOST LIKELY TO BE CONTROLLED BY THE ANTI-CHRIST ARE THE NATIONS WHERE SEX SLAVERY IS NOW THE MOST WIDE-SPREAD ,A BUSINESS HE IS CERTAIN TO ENCOURAGE ) and free people. 16 Then they shouted to the mountains and the rocks,(HEY GUYS,DON'T DO NO GOOD PRAYING TO ROCKS!) "Fall on us! Hide us from the One who sits on the throne and from the anger( THEY STILL AREN'T REPENTING OF THEIR SINS ARE THEY?) of the Lamb. (OUR SAVIOR IS GOING TO SHORTLY TURN INTO OUR JUDGE AS WELL)17 That terrible day has come! (THE END TIME OF THE TRIBULATION) God and the Lamb will show their anger and who can stand it? (HUMANITY WILL HAVE NO ABILITY TO DEFEND ITSELF FROM THE ACTS OF PUNISHMENT BY GOD AND JESUS THAT ARE DESCRIBED IN THIS BOOK)

The Revelation is opened by the coming of the sign of the Son of Man in the clouds, and the coming of Jesus into power. On that day the first Christian conqueror appeared, riding a white horse; and he conquered all the known world for Jesus and His Church with a bow. And he sent his messengers with a trumpet and gathered all the Church together to Nicea. The Christian kingdom that St. Constantine founded lasted for over 1000 years. That day (Oct. 28th, 312AD) is known as the turning point of history, for Christian kingdoms have been the dominant force on Earth ever since.

The 2nd horseman was the Holy Roman Empire, founded by Charles the Great who rode a red horse and conquered with a great sword. It too lasted over a thousand years.

The 3rd horseman is Great Britain, founded by King James who rode a black horse and conquered with economics.

The 4th horseman is the US, founded by George Washington who rode a pale horse. Our nuclear weapons bring death and hell. As further proof, the fourth living creature (a flying eagle) that is closely associated with the fourth horseman, and is seen flying the Gospel to all the earth, is prominently displayed on the US dollar bill and the great seal. The flying eagle represents the US Church which founded the US (and not the other way around).

The fifth seal shows all the Christian martyrs up through WW I.

The sixth seal is the great tribulation of WW II. (Hitler's Third Reich, or Third Reign of Rome, is the third six of the 666 trilogy).

Rev 6:1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

The seven seals parallel the events our Lord Jesus gave in His Olivet Discourse of Mark 13. His first warning in Mark 13 was to not allow any man to deceive us. That's what this rider on the white horse is about, going forth to conquer using deception. The "bow" in the Greek represents one of cheap fabric, and the "crown" in that sense as a victory wreath.

3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

The red horse represents a war horse. Christ gave this event as wars and rumours of wars in Mark 13. As long as wars and rumours of wars happen, He said don't be troubled for the end is not yet. The opposite of that is a time of peace, the "Peace and safety" Apostle Paul mentioned in 1 Thess.5.

5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

Christ mentioned in Mark 13 a time of famines and troubles, earthquakes in diverse places, and said these are the beginnings of sorrows. The balances represent commerce, economy. The expression "A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny" points to devalued currency, a day's wages just to buy enough to make a loaf of bread. The wine and oil represent God's Truth and The Holy Spirit. For those given, God's Truth will not be cut off, while others will go through a spiritual famine, looking everywhere for The Word of God and not finding it (Amos 8).

7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

This is about the world beast kingdom of Rev.13. "Death" is a proper name for the devil. Hell follows with him, which is a pointer to the Rev.12:7-9 event of the devil and his angels being cast down to the earth in the last days. The fourth part of the earth is about control over the earth by the four stage development of the locust, per the Joel prophecy. It is control over education, economy/finance, religion, and the political.

9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost Thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

These souls under the altar are those who were killed for the Testimony they held in past history. They are told to wait until their brethren and fellowservants still alive on earth are killed as they were for giving that Testimony for Christ. Our Lord gave us this parallel in Mark 13 about the time of His servants being delivered up to councils and synagogues to give a Testimony for Him by The Holy Spirit. That event is not yet today, but it's coming.

12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

The great earthquake, sun becoming black, and moon as blood, are signs of the very end. Given along with this sixth seal is the casting down of these stars to the earth, as a fig tree casts its untimely winter figs too early instead of in the spring. Our Lord warned about this in Mark 13 when He said "And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter." That's related to the abomination of desolation, a false messiah, coming to gather the saints too early, in metaphorical winter. It means deception to the false messiah if you seek to be gathered early in winter to the "another Jesus", instead of summer harvest time by The True Christ Who comes later. The "untimely figs" concept is an important metaphor.

14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

These are also 7th trumpet and 7th vial events on this sixth seal (see end of Rev.11 and Rev.16 and 19). Our Lord Jesus covered these sixth seal events in Mark 13:24 forward.
