I thot, "even if the old man that I seem to be
is incomprehensibly devoid of hope lately,
surely I could at least quote a younger man,
who seems to have a couple works listed here
in this forum already",
with permission.

Unknown Saints
What brother pipes a salute to sunset orange hills,
which pianist worshipping serenely stills,
What warm tenor sings lullabies to restless hearts,
what vigil's prayer is balm for every hurting part?
Brothers, we each minister in some small way.
Unknown ears hear sounds at the finish of a day
but we in cyberworlds see naught of sister's diligence
in daily enduring, shining, driving back pestilence.
Empty acres of the city's broken streets
and open miles of country with light we greet,
An offering of salt and life to empty places
is found in a small gesture from friendly faces.
Let us then encourage one the other
and pass on heartening guidance to that Father
who is the ONE that, if we share here on this earth,
will give eternity by His love in second birth.
