Actually, within the Reformation was a movement known as the Radical Reformation. These groups threw out the baby with the bath water and formed what has become Evangelicalism. So, yes, that part actually is correct.

I've been doing a bit of research and it seems that Pentecostalism seems to have certain ties to evangelicalism in general.

Why exactly does it just appear in 1901 without any branch from another denomination?

From what I can remember, Pentecostalism isn't tied to any other denomination. It began as it's own movement--some would say a movement of the Holy Spirit--and even today many consider it to be a movement rather than a denomination because it is found in a variety of denominations, including Catholicism.

cool, I was reading up on the Azura street Revival a while ago, sounds like it would have been one heck of an experience to be there.
