But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
2 Timothy 3:1-5

The police are leaving cities where they have no support from city government. This will lead to more and more crime and violence in those cities.

It doesn't have to be an either/or. Police reform is absolutely needed as police abuse/brutality/corruption is a real thing, but defunding/demonizing all police is dangerous ratings/political fodder. Police unions need to be broken. Local citizen over watch panels are needed to place police transparency/accountability as a reality rather than the fallacy it is now. A national registry of bad cops is needed to get bad cops out of law enforcement nationwide. Frequent local auditing by an independent entity to make sure corruption is kept at bay at the department/personal level. Psychiatric testing to remove psychopaths from law enforcement. Independent local investigatory entities needed to look into police behavior instead of this in-house "fox guarding the henhouse" setup where police investigate themselves. If we don't fix this at the local level nationwide, then we'll wind up with a national police force at the local level......that'll be the end of the constitution. Also that forfeiture law where cops can seize cash from citizens to the tune of $2 billion a year has gotta go.

I agree.

However, ths discussion is about leaders; Mayors, city counselmen, telling police to not arrest certain criminals because we they are fulfilling a political agenda.

This will only lead to more violence and crime, where the average law abiding citizen only suffers.
