Dear Pray-ers,
"He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."(Micah 6:8)

CHINA Eight Zhejiang House Church Christians Sentenced - China Aid Association
After an almost 12-hour marathon pre-Christmas trial on December 22, eight House Church Christians in Zhejiang quickly received sentences from 3½ years to one year in prison. The verdict was clearly prepared by the government in advance of the actual trial.
Earlier on December 7, 2006 a group of policemen, along with some unidentified people, broke into the home of Xiu Ruibin, a house church missionary in Beijing, beat the people in the house and destroyed the furniture.
On December 9, a house church in Shanghai was attacked by the local police. A brother, Wang Mingwei was taken to the police station, along with some church belongings.
Pray God will strengthen all Chinese believers to be faithful witnesses of Christ's love and forgiveness. Romans 8:31
ERITREA Nine Samaritan's Purse Employees Arrested in Asmara Compass Direct
Asmara sources confirmed that on December 4 security officials arrested nine truck drivers working for Samaritan's Purse, an international aid agency ordered to leave the country last month.
Also, the government of Eritrea wrested financial and personnel control away from the Eritrean Orthodox Church last week.
In an ultimatum delivered to the church's Asmara headquarters on December 5, the state demanded all offerings and tithes collected through the Orthodox Church be deposited directly into a government account.
Pray Eritrean Christians will know Jesus is with them as they remain faithful to Him. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-25
INDIA Hindu Extremists Beat Christian Couple, Pastor Compass Direct
Hindu extremists launched two known attacks against Christians last week, assaulting a pastor in the state of Chhattisgarh on December 17 and beating a couple in Haryana on December 20.
In Raipur, a group of about 50 extremists from the Dharam Raksha Sena beat an independent pastor and accused him of forced conversions. They attacked Philip Jagdalla as he returned to his home after teaching Sunday school at his church. About 50 Bajrang Dal extremists attacked the Christian couple, Rakesh Sen and Suman Sen, at their home.
The attackers were upset at the couple for regularly allowing their New Life Fellowship church to meet in their home and warned them against doing so in the future.
Pray God will give all these victims a special measure of His grace to remain faithful and forgiving.1 Thessalonians 3:12, 13
TURKMENISTAN What's in the Future after Death of Suparmurat Niyazov? Forum 18 News Service
Following the death of Turkmenistan's dictator, Saparmurat Niyazov, on December 21, victims of his policies have told Forum 18 News Service that, in the words of an exiled Protestant, "the transition leaders have already praised Niyazov and his policies and vowed to continue them."
Exiled human rights activist Farid Tukhbatullin, of the Turkmen Initiative for Human Rights, noted that hostility toward religious freedom was a "personal instruction" of Niyazov.
But "this does not mean though that his subordinates were merely implementing his will," he said. "Almost all of them shared his views on this entirely."
He pointed out that "the overwhelming majority of officials of the police and secret police have a vested interest in preserving the current situation, under which they enjoy unlimited rights."
It is unclear whether Niyazov's invented Ruhnama religion will continue to be state-imposed.
