We need them. Otherwise we become sleepy Christians. Wake up Calls are designed to wake us up. From complacency and superficial faith.
What have been your wake up calls so far?
The death of my parents was a kind of wake up call. Guess what Humble. You don't live forever. You aren't young forever. And when someone dies, maybe you realise how valuable they were.
I know some of you have had very traumatic wake up calls. I am sorry for your trauma. May I ask. Did it test your faith? Or did it grow stronger?

Ok here's one I hesitate to share.
Driving. And I get the competitive juices flowing as one driver cuts in, in front of me.
I speed up and honk my horn at him.
He changes lane and manoeuvres so he is stopping right next to me at a traffic light. Winds down his window so I wind down mine.
"Hey mate, you want to pull up over there, and sort this out , man to man?"
I thought about it briefly. But decided to opt out of his offer of a physical fight. I felt like a coward driving off but possibly sanity was returning to my stupid head.
I was headed for work anyway.
This event made me careful on the road. Avoid a contest. Slow down. Don't react to others stupidity or competitiveness or impatience. Just stop the insanity. Otherwise you might end up in hospital or in prison or both.

I like to think God intervened. And saved my sorry butt.

That was a good wake up call Humble and good on you for taking notice.
I've had loads of wake up calls. Can't make my mind yo which to tell, so will come back to you.
