My wife and I are finally trading in our car for a new one.
15 years old. A Toyota Yaris.
It was a great car.
We did many long trips. So reliable. So many good memories. I never thought I could get sentimental about this. Needed a new handbrake and we just didn't think it was worth fixing.
The car is also associated with our dog.
Its like a death in the family.

Sounds legit.

Lots of good times, it sounds like. I can't say I've been so sentimental over a vehicle, but we haven't owned any of ours for a long period of time, but I think I'd be upset if something happened to my car =P

Sounds normal to me. It was part of upur loge for a long time. Here's hoping you both have many precious memories in your new one.

it isnt something unusual, i thought it was strange for me wife to kiss the steering wheel of gertrude(the name of the 02 ford ranger that was totataled) as it was about to be towed. i didnt until i completed retiring my truck, the only thing left that i had before my war time service outside of my wife. the other was my dog. who passed 4 years ago. i have spent many emotional moments in that truck of mine , work, taking photos and traveling.

Then why trade it. If it hold sentimental value then we should always treasure it. Unless there was a very good reason for the change. In any case, God bless you more.
